    摘要: A downhole coupling mechanism for use in downhole tools that find application in wells exploited by a hydraulic refracturing process. The downhole coupling mechanism connects first and second tubular sections via a tensile load arrangement of wires located in complimentary grooves, a torque arrangement of interlocking lugs and notches on opposite ends, and a seal arrangement. The downhole coupling mechanism provides a thin walled coupling where a screw-threaded connection could not achieve the required tensile load, torque and sealing properties needed. Embodiments of a thin walled anchor and packer including the downhole coupling mechanism are described.

    摘要: The disclosed embodiments include a self-locking coupler, a method to couple adjacent tubing sections, and a self-locking coupling assembly. In one embodiment, the self-locking coupler includes a coupling shroud having an external interface proximate to a first end of the coupling shroud and a set of collet fingers that extends from the first end of the coupling shroud. The self-locking coupler also includes a locking sleeve having an internal interface that complements the external interface of the coupling shroud. The locking sleeve is movable from a first position on the external interface to a second position on the external interface. As the locking sleeve moves from the first position to the second position, the locking sleeve compresses the set of collet fingers into a cavity of a first seal ring coupled to a first tubing section to secure the coupling shroud to the first tubing section.

    摘要: A shear coupling can be used with reciprocating and rotary pumps. The shear coupling uses a shear nut and connecting member as the shear element. The connecting member and shear nut are located inside the axial bore of the shear coupling to protect from corrosive wellbore elements. The coupling members may be connected by matching polygonal shaft and hub profiles on the coupling members to transmit torque. The shaft and hub may have octagonal profiles for better torque transmission capacity. The shear nut may be isolated from large alternating stresses due to pretensioning of the connecting member. The length of the connecting member, especially when pretensioned, and a reduced cross-section that may be formed on the outer surface of the shear coupling increase the overall flexibility of the shear coupling, thereby increasing the resistance to bending stress.

    摘要: The invention relates to a drill rod coupling having a sleeve-shaped coupling receptacle, a pin-shaped coupling member which can be inserted axially into the coupling receptacle to form a torque proof connection, and at least one locking bolt which is directed transversely to the axial coupling direction and extends, in a locked coupling position, between the coupling receptacle and the coupling member into a locking recess, wherein the locking bolt is mounted so as to be radially adjustable between an unlocking position and a locking position. Efficient coupling is achieved in that a tensioning device is provided by means of which the locking bolt is pressed into its locking position with a predefined tensioning force, and in that the locking bolt is connected to a resetting member by means of which the locking bolt can be reset into the unlocking position when a resetting force is applied.

    摘要: A downhole assembly that includes tubulars rotationally coupled to one another. An interface is between adjacent tubulars that makes up at least a portion of the rotational coupling. Certain surfaces of adjacent tubulars come into contact with one another when adjacent tubulars are rotationally coupled; and which are defined as contact surfaces. Each contact surface is profiled with facets that are complementary to facets on a corresponding contact surface of an adjacent tubular. The profiling of the contact surfaces is such that when a contact surface is brought together with a corresponding contact surface; facets on the contact surface abut facets on the corresponding contact surface along planes that are oblique or parallel with an axis of the tubular. At least some of a rotational torque transmitted between adjacent tubulars occurs across the abutting facets.

    摘要: An insert for installation on an inner pipe member of a dual-pipe member assembly. The insert is interposed between an external shoulder formed on the inner pipe member and an internal shoulder formed in an outer pipe member. Shoulder-to-shoulder impacts between pipe members results in wear to the insert, rather than to either pipe member. The insert has the shape of an unclosed loop and is positioned within an endless external groove formed in the inner pipe member.

    摘要: A remotely-operated fluid connection assembly to hold higher internal pressures in larger diameters. The assembly comprises a fluid connection adapter and a fluid connection housing assembly. When the adapter enters the housing assembly: (A) locking elements on the housing assembly constrict about the adapter; and (B) a first seal section on the adapter sealingly contacts a first seal bore on the housing assembly. Progressive engagement of a locking ring tightens the locking elements against the adapter. Internal pressure further tightens the adapter against the locking elements and the first seal section against the first seal bore. The fluid connection adapter also provides a release collar in adapter release embodiments. Extension of the locking ring away from the fluid connection housing during disengagement contacts the release collar and separates the fluid connection adapter from the fluid connection housing assembly.
