摘要： A portable typewriter particularly adapted for juvenile use comprises a plurality of types, a plurality of key levers each of which has a key and arm, an universal plate actuated by any one of the poeration key levers, a carriage in which a platen is provided for supporting paper, a ribbon cartridge in which a typewriter ribbon is loaded, and ribbon cartridge actuating means connected to the universal plate and adapted to shift the typewriter ribbon cartridge in a direction parallel to the axis of the platen to a typing position and, at the same time, to advance the typewriter ribbon when one of the keys is operated. The cartridge actuating mechanism is arranged to be shiftable vertically independently of its movement parallel to the axis of the platen. The typewriter ribbon cartridge and the actuating means are adapted to easy manufacture, and to allow the extensive use of plastics in the construction.

摘要： An inkribbon cartridge for a printer is disclosed which compulsorily keeps a definite form by a cooperation with its box member and a lid member.The box member which comprises a plurality of concavities on the outside of a wall and a plurality of projections on the upper end of the wall near the concavities is engaged with the lid member which comprises a plurality of hooks which is inserted in the concavities to prevent outward deformation of the wall and a plurality of cuts which associate with the projections to prevent inward deformation of the wall.By these provisions, in- and outward deformations of the wall of the box member can be undertaken by the lid member and the inkribbon cartridge compulsorily keeps its definite form.

摘要： A ribbon cartridge comprising a housing including a first cavity in which an ink ribbon in the form of an endless loop is received in irregular form, and a second cavity in which a tape in the form of an endless loop of high polymer film or metal film and having a width which is substantially equal to that of the ribbon is received in irregular form. The housing has an inlet and an outlet, which are common to both the ribbon and the tape and which communicate with both the first and second cavities. Either the ribbon or tape is drawn to the outside of the housing through the common outlet from their associated cavity and is then again inserted into the corresponding cavity through the common inlet. Intermediate the inlet and the outlet, both the ribbon and the tape are maintained in substantially overlapping relationship so as to be subject to the action of a printing element. The common inlet is provided with at least one set of pinch rollers for driving the ribbon and the tape into their associated cavities while the common outlet is provided with known friction means which delay the movement of the ribbon and the tape out of their associated cavity.

摘要： A freely rotatable spool having an endless loop of printer ribbon wound around it is disclosed. The ribbon is withdrawn from the inner periphery of the coil and is simultaneously wound onto the outer periphery of the coil in a known manner. The freely rotatable spool is driven by the forces applied through pulling the ribbon off the inner periphery. Ribbon pulling is performed by an external set of feed rollers or similar mechanism. Difficulties encountered with the use of fabric ribbons in endless reel configurations are eliminated in the present invention by an improvement in the form of a polygonally shaped flange on the upper side of the freely rotatable spool on which the ribbon is wound. The flat sides on the polygonal flange have an optimum length which is defined in relationship to the width of the ribbon and the cosine of the angle at which the ribbon is withdrawn from the spool. An undercut dimension is provided on the spool so that the inner periphery of the ribbon is not in too great a contact with the hub or central core of the spool. A smooth ribbon flow from the vertical plane on the inner periphery of the coil to the horizontal plane as the ribbon is pulled from the center of the coil and out through the cassette is obtained.

摘要： A cartridge for an inked ribbon for printing machines, in particular wire printers, comprises a container and a pair of rollers for the feeding of the ribbon. The container comprises a storage zone, in which an inked ribbon is disposed in loops and is distributed at random, and a guide zone which surrounds the printing head of the machine. The guide zone comprises a series of ribs which twists a section of the inked ribbon through 180.degree. to form a Mobius loop. The rollers are free to move radially in corresponding seats of the container and are able to engage a pair of pins of the machine. One pin is a motor pin and rotates one of the rollers, and the other pin is a pressure pin which engages the other roller and is urged by a spring against the motor pin. The pressure pin causes the ribbon to be nipped between the two rollers to be fed by the motor pin.
