    摘要: An edge-of-dock leveler includes a deck plate hingedly interconnected to a dock, a lip plate hingedly interconnected to the deck plate, an air pan mounted on the face of the dock to allow the air pan to rotate with respect to the dock, and a blower mounted on the air pan. The blower inflates an air bag that causes the air pan to rotate away from the dock face. A deck plate bearing is provided between the air pan and the deck plate, and causes the deck plate to rotate with the air pan. A locking arm hangs pendant from the lip plate until the deck plate has raised to a fully raised position, at which time the locking arm engages a bearing. The blower is turned off, allowing the air to escape the air bag, and the lip plate to extend as the air bag deflates.

    摘要: An improved, safe operating, motorcycle lift having protective mechanisms to prevent the accidental release that may cause damage or injury when operating the apparatus. The present invention lifts the motorcycle through the tires of the bike, thereby preventing damage to the undercarriage or exhaust systems. The lift has a novel configuration comprised of two trestle type legs, having four telescoping extendible rods with cylindrical feet at one end. The manually operated hydraulic lift uses a connecting rod to operate synchronously the legs in unison. The legs and connecting rod comprise a novel open-based parallelogram being manually operated by a hydraulic jack. A newly designed latching mechanism prevents the accidental release, which can lower the lift. Protective curtains define the area beneath the lift by being placed around the perimeter of the work area. The 2-wheel vehicle can be clamped by either it's front wheel or by it's rear wheel. A removable tail extension allows easy access to the unsupported wheel. The lift accommodates either type of center stand or side kickstand. When not in use, the lift lowers to less than 7 inches, which allows for storage of the lift stand under ones automobile. Alternatively, the lift can be stored in a vertical position, with the top being secured to a wall to prevent it from toppling over and falling, causing damage or injury.

The tiltable vehicle lift has an upper treadway frame for receiving and supporting a vehicle. An elevation means, typically a hydraulic cylinder, is pivotally connected between the rearward legs and the treadway frame. The tiltable vehicle lift is provided with a locking mechanism that safely maintains the vehicle lift at a desired height. The locking mechanism is comprised of an upper lock bar and a lower lock bar which may be engaged at any desired height of the vehicle lift. A means for disengaging the locking mechanism is provided so that the vehicle lift may be lowered.

    摘要: The invention provides a method of replacing the wheels of a railroad car while the railroad car is at rest on rail tracks. Most advantageously, the rail car need not be uncoupled from adjacent cars. The method also has the advantage that rail cars are jacked at the coupler thereby making the method applicable to all types of cars including grain and oil cars which cannot be jacked in their midsections. The method comprises the steps of: releasing the wheel to be replaced from the rail car; transverse insertion of a jack between the rails and the underside of the coupler; actuating the jack to lift the rail car supported upon the underside of the coupler; removing the wheel to be replaced; replacing the wheel; actuating the jack to lower the rail car onto the replaced wheel; securing the replaced wheel to the rail car. The invention also provides a jack for raising and lowering an end of a railroad car having a coupler extending therefrom, the railroad car being at rest on longitudinal rail tracks, the jack being disposed between the rails and the underside of a coupler, the jack comprising: a base supported upon the rails; a cap disposed in parallel above the base; coupler support means for supporting the rail car coupler upon the cap; and lifting means, disposed between the base and cap, for selectively raising and lowering the cap relative to the base between a collapsed position wherein the jack is clear of the rail car to facilitate transverse insertion between the rails and the underside of the coupler, and a maximum lift extended position. Advantageously the coupler support means comprise a travelling table means for shifting the coupler transversely thereby aligning the rail car wheel flanges on the rail head.

A bracket arrangement secures the threading machine to the stand in each of the folded and unfolded positions thereof, and a pair of gas springs are interposed between legs of the stand to counterbalance the weight of the threading machine during displacement of the stand between the folded and unfolded positions thereof.

    摘要: The present invention provides a lift used for automobile maintenance, which has a novel link mechanism consisting of a smaller number of parts required to have significantly high precision, and is manufactured at a relatively low cost. The lift allows a mechanic to check and repair a lower portion of a vehicle in a standing attitude. The link mechanism of the invention has a smaller number of joints, thus effectively preventing excessive looseness of the lift even after long-term use. The lift of the invention includes a pair of base elements placed in a pair of pits, a pair of tables for supporting a lower body frame of a vehicle other than four wheels, and a pair of link mechanisms where a long arm crosses and is fixed to a short arm at a position in the middle of the long arm via a center shaft. Each short arm is integrally fixed at a first end thereof to a connection shaft, which is rotatably attached to one side of the base elements. Each long arm has a first end pivotably attached to the table and a second end with a roller slidably movable along a pair of curved rails formed on the base element. In response to the sliding movement of the second end of the long arm along the pair of curved rails, the table descends to a lower most position or ascends to an upper most position. The link mechanism further includes a push rod for joining a second end of the short arm with the table.

The bed is connected with the base frame via a scissors mechanism and can be raised by the scissors mechanism. The scissors mechanism comprises arm braces wherein one arm brace at one end is pivotally connected to the base housing and the other arm brace on one end is pivotally connected to the bed wherein the arm braces are connected to each other at approximately the center thereof via a shaft. The wheels are mounted on the shaft which connect the arm braces and the wheels are pushed out of the base housing as the bed is lowered. The arm braces on the other end opposite the pivotal connections have a free end comprising a sliding foot which slides on the housing floor. In the resting position, the sliding foot engages under a cross rod lying above the housing floor.
