Abstract:
Tube bending apparatus comprising a lower support carrying a mandrel having a bending groove providing a bend axis, and an upper support mounted on the lower support for rotation about the bend axis and carrying a forming member for urging a tube between the mandrel and forming member into the bending groove on rotation of the upper support relative to the lower support. The upper support is adapted to be rotated relative to the lower support through a drive shaft arrangement extending downwardly from the lower support and coupled with a drive unit having an output coupling coaxial with the drive shaft and transverse to the axis of the drive motor of the drive unit. A stand supports the bending apparatus and drive unit relative to an underlying support surface during operation of the bending apparatus. The lower support is provided with angularly spaced apart abutment surfaces corresponding to different bend angles for a tube to be bent, and the upper support member is provided with a stop member which is selectively adjustable to engage any one of the abutment surfaces to provide the corresponding bend angle as well as a selectable degree of overbend of the tube relative to the bend angle.

Abstract:
A hand lever actuated pump for testing a water line for leaks by pumping water into the line under pressure comprises a container for water to be pumped and a hand lever actuated piston and cylinder type pump having suction and discharge strokes in response to displacement of the hand lever in opposite directions about a lever axis. The piston and cylinder components of the pump are pivotally supported on the container and interconnected with the hand lever so as to provide a high flow rate during the initial part of the discharge stroke and a progressively increasing leverage for displacing the piston during the discharge stroke to provide high pressure discharge at the end of the discharge stroke with a low force application to the hand lever.
Abstract:
A foldable wheeled stand is provided for supporting a motor driven pipe threading machine during operation thereof and for transporting the machine from one location to another. The stand includes a scissors-type leg assembly having lower ends which engage an underlying surface when the stand is both folded and unfolded and having upper ends which are respectively elevated and lowered relative to the support surface when the stand is in its unfolded and folded positions. A pipe threading machine is mounted between the upper ends of the stand for pivotal displacement about one of the upper ends and for sliding displacement relative to the other during the displacement of the stand and machine between the folded and unfolded positions of the stand. A bracket arrangement secures the threading machine to the stand in each of the folded and unfolded positions thereof, and a pair of gas springs are interposed between legs of the stand to counterbalance the weight of the threading machine during displacement of the stand between the folded and unfolded positions thereof.
