Abstract: An angle only (AO) target state estimation (TSE) system and method using a mixed coordinate system (Modified Spherical Coordinate (MSC) and Reference Cartesian Coordinate (RCC)) as an integrated system. This integrated system is achieved due to the state vector information of two frames (RCC and MSC) is effectively preserved between processing cycles and state vector transformation steps. The AO TSE architecture and processing schemes are applicable to a wide class of passive sensors. The mixed coordinate system provides robust real-time slant range estimation in a bootstrap fashion, thus turning passive AO measurements into equivalent active sensor measurements with built-in recursive range information but with greatly improved the TSE accuracy meeting the miss distance required by many engagement missions.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for determination of a guided-munition orientation during flight based on lateral acceleration, velocity, and turn rate of the guided-munition. A methodology implementing the techniques, according to an embodiment, includes obtaining a lateral acceleration vector measurement and a velocity of the guided-munition, and calculating a ratio of the two, to generate an estimated lateral turn vector of the guided-munition. The method also includes integrating the estimated lateral turn vector, over a period of time associated with flight of the guided-munition, to generate a first type of predicted attitude change. The method further includes obtaining and integrating a lateral turn rate vector measurement of the guided-munition, over the period of time associated with flight of the guided-munition, to generate a second type of predicted attitude change. The method further includes calculating a gravity direction vector based on a difference between the first and second types of predicted attitude change.

Abstract: A computing network data layer architecture or system includes an open data layer module comprising a translation layer. Translation flags are within the translation layer and each flag is associated with a database language of an underlying database that can be coupled architecture or system. The open data layer module is disposed at the lowermost layer of the architecture directly above the underlying backend database. The open data layer module allows for a system to replace or modify its backend databases without affecting the higher level visualization framework or user interface such that a user of the system is unaware which database is utilized or after one database has been replaced or swapped for another even though the databases may be disparate hand have different database language requirements.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for decorrelation of intermodulation products in mixer circuits. A circuit implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes four switches. Each of the switches comprise a complementary pair of n-channel and p-channel metal oxide semiconductor (NMOS/PMOS) field effect transistors (FETs). The NMOS/PMOS FETs include a source port, a drain port, and a gate port. The gate port is configured to receive an oscillator signal. The circuit also includes electrical conductors to couple the four switches into a double-balanced passive ring configuration to generate an output signal as a mix of an input signal and the oscillator signal. The output signal includes a third order intermodulation (IM3) product. The circuit further includes a voltage bias generator to generate a bias voltage to bias the input signal and the output signal. The magnitude and phase of the IM3 product are determined, at least in part, by the bias voltage.

Abstract: The system and method of directed navigation using an augmented semi-active laser seeker to provide initial altitude measurement and command denotation information for rounds. Using on-board sensors and communications links between members of a swarm, numerous targets can be engaged more quickly and precisely. The LCSAL can act as 3D LIDAR where the LCSAL's spatial resolution and the associated image from the imager can be correlated to the LCSAL pixel by pixel as time of arrival. The rounds trajectory can be refined due to coupling with accurate Target ID to provide optimum command detonation for specific target types.
