Abstract: Embodiments of methods, systems, and computer-readable media for coupling two or more simulators to simulate a coupled multi-physics model of a subsurface formation are provided. A coupling framework loads one or more simulators as shared libraries into a common process and a common memory space with a first simulator to create the coupled multi-physics model of the subsurface formation. During simulation, the coupling framework controls data exchange between the first simulator and the other simulator(s) through the common memory space and controls execution of the first simulator and the other simulator(s) responsive to the common process. In the event of two-way coupling, the coupling framework can receive feedback from the other simulator(s) and alter execution of the first simulator. In the event of grid misalignment, the coupling framework can map data between the first simulator and the other simulator(s) such as in a globally conservative (e.g., mass, energy, etc.) manner.

Abstract: Flow restriction differential pressure and a third tap differential pressure for a pipe are used to determine a pressure loss ratio for the pipe/system that includes a flow restriction. The pressure loss ratio is used to determine whether liquid is present in the pipe. If liquid is present in the pipe, a value of the Lockhart-Martinelli parameter is determined and used to (1) correct gas flow measurement for the pipe and (2) determine a liquid flow rate in the pipe.

Abstract: Combinations of multiple analytic techniques may be used to identify changes to a structure based on changes in characteristics of acoustic signals traveling along the structure. Acoustic signals traveling along the structure may be monitored to detect changes in characteristics of the acoustic signal from baseline signal characteristics. The changes in characteristics of the acoustic signals may be processed using multiple analytic techniques to provide analyses of the change in time-domain, in frequency-domain, and in mixed time-frequency-domain. The change to the structure may be identified based on a combination of the results of the analysis in time-domain, in frequency-domain, and in mixed time-frequency-domain.

Abstract: A diverter test cell can include an enclosure having a body and a cover removably coupled to the body, where the body forms a cavity that is enclosed by the cover, where the body includes an inlet port and an outlet port in communication with the cavity. The diverter test cell can also include an insert removably disposed within the cavity, where the insert has a channel that forms continuously from a first end to a second end of the insert, where the channel has first width at the first end and a second width at the second end, where the first width is less than the second width, where the first end of the insert is adjacent to the inlet port of the enclosure, and where the second end of the insert is adjacent to the outlet port of the enclosure.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for designing chemical reactions for catalyst construction is described. The method includes extracting historical data including historic chemical reaction data and historic catalyst construction yield data and converting the historic chemical reaction data into graph models to represent molecular structure data. The method also includes incorporating the graph models into a chemical reaction algorithm and training a vectorized cognitive deep learning network of the chemical reaction algorithm by using the graph models and a property of the historic chemical reaction data to produce a catalyst chemical reaction model. Further, the method includes validating the catalyst chemical reaction model by inputting the historic chemical reaction data and comparing a generated property corresponding to the catalyst chemical reaction model to the property of the historic chemical reaction data. Lastly, the method includes updating the training of the catalyst chemical reaction model.

Abstract: A process for preparing a base oil from a waxy hydrocarbon feedstock is provided. The process comprises passing the hydrocarbon feedstock to a distillation column prior to dewaxing in order to recover a heavy wax cut. The heavy wax is then hydrocracked to lower boiling compounds which can be better isomerized to a base oil with an acceptable cloud point. The base oil yield is also increased.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include compositions and methods that stabilize a injection fluid when exposed to reservoir conditions, reducing formation damage and increasing the amount of hydrocarbon recovered. Specifically, the formulation is a single-phase liquid surfactant package which comprises a surfactant and optionally one or more secondary surfactants. Also provided are methods of using the stabilized injection fluids in stimulation operations.

Abstract: A drainage apparatus for draining viscous liquids from containers includes a collection tote and a rack. The rack includes at least one horizontal support bar with a plurality of tabs extending from the horizontal support bar. The plurality of tabs are configured at an acute angle relative to the horizontal support bar to optimize the draining of viscous fluids from a plurality of containers that are placed on the rack. The drainage apparatus is beneficial for draining fluids such as lubricants and coolants from containers so that the fluids can be repurposed and the containers can be recycled.
