    Abstract: Examples described herein relate to the selection of virtual private network profiles. A device obtains VPN metrics associated with a plurality of VPN server nodes and monitors device usage metrics. The device is configured with a first VPN profile, which indicates that a first VPN tunnel connection is associated with a first VPN server node from the plurality of VPN server nodes. The device determines a latency associated with each of the plurality of VPN server nodes based on the VPN metrics and the device usage metrics. A second VPN server node associated with a least latency among the plurality of VPN server nodes is selected. A second VPN tunnel connection associated with the second VPN server node is determined based on the device usage metrics. A second VPN profile indicating that the second VPN tunnel connection is associated with the second VPN server node is displayed as a recommendation to a user.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to automatic antenna beam alignment. A method comprises determining first position-related information indicating a first location and a first orientation of a first communication device. The first communication device comprises a plurality of antenna sectors configured for generating respective directional beams. The method also comprises receiving, from a second communication device, second position-related information indicating a second location and a second orientation of the second communication device. The method also further comprises selecting a subset of the plurality of antenna sectors based on the first and the second position-related information; and causing the first communication device to perform beamforming training with the second communication device using the selected subset of antenna sectors. A decreased number of antenna sectors are scanned during the beamforming training, which can reduce the time overhead and facilitate the devices to find the best beam efficiently.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for multiple basic service set identifier (MBSSID) beaconing (from an access point (AP) standpoint) and MBSSID/virtual AP (VAP) scanning (from a client device perspective). To facilitate easier discovery of mesh APs/VAPs, BSSIDs associated with mesh VAPs can be advertised more frequently, e.g., being broadcast as a transmitted or non-transmitted BSSID in each MBSSID beacon. Additionally, information regarding mesh VAPs, such as mesh capability information, can be provided via intermediate discovery beacons or frames such that out-of-band scanning mechanisms can discover mesh VAPs faster. Additionally still, the existence of mesh VAPs can be advertised in a dedicated field of an MBSSID beacon.

    Abstract: A system for facilitating data transmission in a switch is provided. During operation, the system can obtain one or more sets of configuration parameters for a plurality of traffic policing filters of the switch. A respective traffic policing filter can correspond to a token bucket. A number of tokens in the token bucket can indicate whether to forward a packet associated with the traffic policing filter. The system can determine the token allocation frequencies for the plurality of traffic policing filters based on the one or more sets of configuration parameters. The system can then select a sampling interval from the token allocation frequencies based on a selection policy and determine a performance rate for the plurality of traffic policing filters based on the sampling interval.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing DevID enrollment for hardware redundant Trust Platform Modules (TPMs), are described. A system can include hardware redundancy for management modules, and for TPMs that correspond to each management module. Accordingly, a product can have a dual-TPM configuration, where both modules are associated with the same product. Further, a process that particularly considers the presence of dual-TPMs for creating, issuing, and enrolling DevID certificates is described. The process issues and maintains DevID certificates for each TPM by synchronizing dual sessions that correspond to each TPM. Also, the process accounts for duplicate identification data, for example allowing the certificate authority (CA) to sign certificates for dual-TPMs linked to the same chassis number. The process can include performing validation checks, rendezvous points, and locks to ensure that DevID certificates are successfully issued for each of the dual-TPMs, respectively.
