    Abstract: The invention concerns a method for converting an input image comprising an input luminance component made of elements into an output image comprising an output luminance component made of elements, the respective ranges of the output luminance component values and input luminance component element values being of different range extension. the method comprises for the input image: computing a value of a general variable representative of at least two input luminance component element values; transforming each input luminance component element value into a corresponding output luminance component element value according to the computed general variable value; and converting the input image using the determined output luminance component element values. The transforming step uses a set of pre-determined output values organized into a 2D Look-Up-Table (2D LUT) comprising two input arrays indexing a set of chosen input luminance component values and a set of chosen general variable values respectively, each pre-determined output value matching a pair of values made of an indexed input luminance component value and an indexed general variable value, the input luminance component element value being transformed into the output luminance component element value using at least one predetermined output value.

    Abstract: An image processing device for converting an input image having a first dynamic range into an output image having a second dynamic range distinct from the first dynamic range includes a mapping unit for transforming, using a conversion parameter, an input luminance value associated with a pixel of the input image into an output luminance value associated with the corresponding pixel in the output image. The mapping unit includes a processing module based on a neural network, the neural network being configured to receive as an input a statistical representation depending on a plurality of input luminance values respectively associated with a plurality of pixels of the input image, the neural network being configured to provide as an output the conversion parameter. A method for converting an input image into an output image is also provided.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method, implemented by a calculation unit, for estimating a depth map from a digital hologram representing a scene, the method including: reconstructing, using the digital hologram, of n images of the scene, each associated with a depth of the scene and including multiple pixels, each image being defined by a same window; for each image, forming thumbnails composed of contiguous pixels and associated with two-dimensional regions of the window; applying an operator to each thumbnail of each image associated with a depth to provide a metric per thumbnail and by depth; determining a depth associated with each region two-dimensional based at least on the metrics relating to the thumbnails associated with the two-dimensional region concerned; determining the depth of a pixel of the depth map by selecting the depth having a maximum repetition number in the two-dimensional regions including the pixel concerned.

    Abstract: An image processing device and method for converting an input image having a first dynamic range into an output image having a second dynamic range higher than the first dynamic range are provided. The image processing device includes a mapping unit for transforming an input luminance value associated with a pixel of the input image into an output luminance value associated with the corresponding pixel in the output image. The mapping unit is configured to apply a continuous and increasing function mapping a first range of values into a second range of values, whereby the highest value in the first range of values is mapped by the continuous and increasing function into a supremum of the second range of values. The mapping unit is configured to adjust the supremum depending on a peak luminance.

    Abstract: A digital hologram is represented by a set of coefficients respectively associated with a plurality of definition wavelets each defined by a tuple of coordinates in a multidimensional space. A method for reconstructing the digital hologram in order to display it by a display, includes the following steps: depending on at least one data item representative of a characteristic of the display, determining a transformation of the multidimensional space; and generating a reconstructed hologram by assigning each coefficient of at least some of the coefficients to a reconstruction wavelet defined by an image reconstruction tuple by the predetermined transformation of the tuple of coordinates defining the definition wavelet associate with the coefficient in question.     Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a device for coding a sequence including first and second digital holograms representing respective scenes, the digital holograms being represented by a set of wavelets each defined by a multiplet of coordinates in multidimensional space. The first and second holograms are represented by first and second coefficients respectively associated with wavelets. The coding method includes the following steps: for each second coefficient, determining a remainder by a difference between the second coefficient concerned, associated with a first wavelet defined by a given multiplet, and the first coefficient) associated with a second wavelet defined by a multiplet having as its image the multiplet by a transform in the multidimenisonal space; coding the determined remainders. The transform is determined by analysis of variation between the first scene represented by the first digital hologram and the second scene represented by the second digital hologram.

The method includes, for a current block: processing the current block to provide a set of description elements; selecting a subset of description elements to be predicted; ordering the description elements of the subset into an ordered sequence; and encoding the elements of the sequence. Encoding includes scrolling the elements of the sequence and includes, for a current element: selecting a combination of predicted values of the description elements of the current sequence from a plurality of possible combinations based on a predetermined cost criterion and from the second element, values of description elements previously processed of the initial sequence; predicting the current element of the sequence by its value in the selected combination; and encoding an indicator representative of a difference between the actual value of the current element and its predicted value.
