摘要: A plastic item, such as a beverage bottle, conveys two distinct digital watermarks, encoded using two distinct signaling protocols. A first, printed label watermark conveys a retailing payload, including a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) used by a point-of-sale scanner in a retail store to identify and price the item when presented for checkout. A second, plastic texture watermark conveys a recycling payload, including data identifying the composition of the plastic. The use of two different signaling protocols assures that a point-of-sale scanner will not spend its limited time and computational resources working to decode the recycling watermark, which lacks the data needed for retail checkout. In some embodiments, a recycling apparatus makes advantageous use of both types of watermarks to identify the plastic composition of the item (e.g., relating GTIN to plastic type using an associated database), thereby increasing the fraction of items that are correctly identified for sorting and recycling. A great number of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

摘要: Techniques are for detecting presence of a problematic cellular entity in a target. In an example, using an analysis model, a fluorescence-based image is analyzed. The analysis model is trained using a number of reference fluorescence-based images for detecting the presence of problematic cellular entities in targets. Based on the analysis, a problematic cellular entity present in the target is detected. To perform the detection, the analysis model is trained to differentiate between the fluorescence in the fluorescence-based image emerging from the problematic cellular entity and the fluorescence in the fluorescence-based image emerging from regions other than the problematic cellular entity.

摘要: Systems and methods for detecting, characterizing, and addressing surgical smoke are disclosed. In some embodiments, a surgical system receives image data representing an image of a surgical environment and generates sets of values based on the received image. The sets of values may include representations of atmospheric light in the image and representations of contrast values in the image. The system may determine from the sets of values whether predetermined smoke severity criteria are met, and may responsively automatically engage and/or disengage one or more surgical devices, such as a surgical smoke evacuation system and/or an image processing system (e.g., a video enhancement feature) configured to improve quality of smoky surgical images.

摘要: An approach is provided for detecting road features. The approach, for example, involves receiving image data associated with one or more road features. The received image data may be associated with ground truth label data corresponding to the one or more road features. The approach further involves determining a set of shadowed regions from one or more images of the received image data. The approach further involves generating artificial shadow data based on the determined set of shadowed regions. The approach further involves augmenting the image data with the generated artificial shadow data by applying the generated artificial shadow data to the received image data. The approach further involves training a machine learning (ML) model based on the augmented image data and the ground truth label data. The ML model is trained to detect the one or more road features.

摘要: Provided are a medical image translation method and apparatus. The medical image translation apparatus receives a first medical image and translates the first medical image into a second medical image through an image translation model. The first medical image is a two-dimensional (2D) medical image, and the second medical image is a 2D medical image obtained by reconstructing a brightness value of each of pixels of the first medical image while maintaining a structure shown in the first medical image. The image translation model is a model implemented with an artificial neural network that reflects and outputs a feature of a brightness value of each of pixels of a reference image trained in a training process in a 2D medical image.

摘要: A system for identifying tags comprises an imaging sensor and a processor. The imaging sensor acquires image(s) of tag(s) from light reflected from the tag(s) on a tagged item. The processor is configured to: receive the image(s) and a library of tag types; using the image(s), determine feature metrics using a machine learning algorithm and is based on an image processing, manipulation, and/or correction; using the feature metrics and the library of tag types, determine a tag type of the tag(s) in the image(s) based on a local maxima determination, a bounding box generation, a tag candidate patch extraction, a tag candidate segmentation, a tag candidate feature metric determination, and/or a comparison to a model; determine a confidence level of the tag type; and in response to the confidence level being above a threshold level, provide the tag type determined.

摘要: A sky sensor device for measuring direct normal illuminance (DNE) value is described. One method controls a camera sensor to capture a series of exposure-bracketed images having a first dynamic range and generate an image from the series of exposure-bracketed images, the image having a second dynamic range higher than the first dynamic range. The method controls an illuminance sensor to measure a global illuminance value. The method determines a global horizontal diffuse value based on at least the image. The method determines a direct normal illuminance (DNE) value using the global illuminance value and the global horizontal diffuse value.

摘要: In an example in accordance with the present disclosure, an augmented reality (AR) display device is described. The AR display device includes a frame to be worn on a head of a user and a lens disposed within the frame. A user is to view a physical scene through the lens. The lens includes multiple regions. Each region is individually addressable and has a tint value that is individually adjustable. The AR display device also includes an input to receive virtual content to be presented on the lens and an imaging system to present the virtual content on the lens. The AR display device also includes a controller which 1) identifies a first region of the lens on which the virtual content is to be presented and 2) selectively adjusts a tint of the first region while suppressing a tint adjustment to a second region of the transparent lens.
