    Abstract: Digitization of film, and more particularly film scanning, includes capturing light transmitted through the film so as to acquire a digitized image. This includes a captured frame comprising a digitized image of at least a portion of at least one image frame of a sequence of image frames, and at least a portion of one or more transport perforations. The method can further include determining an image offset corresponding to at least the captured frame on the basis of a comparison between at least one detected edge in the captured image and a corresponding datum location. A signal representing the image offset can be generated to enable alignment of at least the captured frame.
