An embossing system including: an embossing unit with at least one embossing roller arranged to emboss a web of paper intended to be joined with a further web by gluing; and a gluing unit associated with the embossing unit, with a tank containing the glue used to perform the gluing and a glue dispensing device including a cliche roller adapted to distribute by contact the glue contained in the tank on one of the webs while the embossing is performed, the cliche roller rotating with a pre-fixed angular velocity around an axis parallel to said at least one embossing roller. The system further includes: a sensor to produce electrical signals having amplitude and/or frequency related to the vibrations at which the cliche roll is instantaneously subject.

Sharpening device for sharpening blades mounted on cutting machines, comprising two grinding wheels (2, 3) supported by respective movable supports (20, 30) adapted to move said grinding wheels (2, 3) from a standby or rest configuration in which the grinding wheels (2, 3) are positioned at a predetermined distance from the blade (4) to an active configuration in which the grinding wheels (2, 3) are in contact with a cutting edge (40) of the blade (4) and vice-versa along a predetermined trajectory (R2, R3). The movable supports (20, 30) are adapted to move said grinding wheels (2, 3) along respective arcuate trajectories, such that the contact of each grinding wheel (2, 3) with a respective side of the cutting edge (40) of the blade (4) is progressive, whereby the contact between the grinding wheels and the blade increases progressively when the device passes from the standby rest configuration to the active configuration.

An outer surface of said inner side (PN) is formed by more sectors (4), each of which is formed by a cylindrical surface portion with a free front part (40). Machine for cutting paper logs, including a support for supporting one or more logs (3) disposed side by side, device for advancing the logs (3) on the support, device for the transverse cutting of the logs (3) and device for blocking logs (3) during their cutting. The cutting device includes an annular band blade (4) having a bevel (400, 401) on both its edges, provided in correspondence to a cutting station (T) in which the logs (3) are cut and connected to corresponding guiding and actuating structure, the blade (4) featuring a portion (40) defining a corresponding cutting plane which is oriented orthogonally with respect to the longitudinal axes of logs (3), the blade being provided with a sharpening device (100) continuously acting on both its bevels (400,401). The machine includes structure for the relative motion of logs (3) with respect to the blade (4) along the cutting plane. The blade (4) acts on one log (3) at a time.

A rewinding machine for producing paper logs by winding a paper web, comprising: elements for feeding a paper web along a predetermined path at a predetermined feeding speed; web pre-cutting elements; web winding elements; web sizing elements, with a pad adapted to cyclically apply glue by contact on the web, the pad being mounted on a pad-holder device connected with a corresponding actuator. The web sizing elements are arranged upstream of a web winding station. The pad-holder device is controlled such that, when the pad contacts the web, the pad is moved with a speed lower than the speed of the web along the respective feeding path so as to cause a prolonged contact of the pad with the web while the pad and the web move.

A cutting-off machine for the transversal cutting of logs of paper material, including a structure on which the logs to be cut are moved and a cutting unit including a support plate for a blade arranged along a lying plane. The machine includes at least one sharpening unit with two grinding wheels for sharpening the blade on opposite sides of the plane and equipped with an abrasive side and a grinding wheel positioning device with respect to the blade, arranged on each sharpening unit, by which each grinding wheel is placed in a position of contact with the blade in a phase of sharpening the latter starting from a position initial inoperative. The positioning device is equipped with automatic elements for detecting the wear of the abrasive side of the grinding wheels.
