    Abstract: A document with indexes and associated document reader system. The document is constructed by printing plural pixels and divided into plural areas. Each of the areas has plural indexes respectively consisting of a group of indexing dots to represent an area code corresponding to the area. The indexes and the pixels have different optical reflection features. The system includes a filter, a pattern sensor and a pattern decoder. The filter allows a light with special wavelengths to pass through, so as to obtain a desired light corresponding to the indexes of the document. The sensor is connected to the filter for sensing the light passed through and accordingly forming a pattern to output. The decoder is connected to the sensor for decoding and thus obtaining corresponding indexes in accordance with the pattern outputted by the sensor.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus of image dynamic response re-mapping and a digital camera using the same. The apparatus first transforms an original Bayer image data into new transformed image data on a new image coordinate system, and then performs dynamic response re-mapping for the new transformed image data to calculate a gain modulated value. Finally, the apparatus adjusts the original Bayer image data according to the gain modulated value and outputs adjusted Bayer image data with dynamic response re-mapping. Because the apparatus transforms the original Bayer image data into the new transformed image data on the new image coordinate system in advance, it can reduce the bad effect on performing the dynamic response re-mapping on a high-frequency color signal and also keep the color coherence in color processing.

    Abstract: A method and system for performing image processing in a computer apparatus. The system has an image driver unit to receive a video stream output by an image capture device and perform a pre-processing on the video stream to thereby obtain a color video stream, and an image processing module to use an application programming interface (API) to notify the image driver unit of outputting the color video stream in order to perform a special effect processing on the color video stream to thereby produce a processed video stream. The image processing module uses another API to notify the image driver unit and send the processed video stream to the image driver unit. The image driver unit performs a post-processing on the processed video stream. Accordingly, the image processing module can use the resources of a user mode to perform the complicated image processing operations.

    Abstract: A rapid color recognition method is provided. In the method, an area for representing a color of the pixel is identified according to the basic color component data of the pixel, and then the color code is outputted according to a predetermined color classification table of the area. In the method, since an isosceles right triangle plane is provided by extending and scaling the regular triangle plane by using one side of the regular triangle plane as a base, wherein the regular triangle plane is provided by normalizing the basic color component data. Therefore, the basic color component data is normalized without division operation, and thus the complexity of the operation of the color recognition is reduced.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming multi-level dither images from an input digital image are disclosed. The difference between a pixel value of the input digital image and a pixel value of a dither image corresponding to the input digital image is first determined. Next, the difference is processed by an error filter to correct the pixel value of the input digital image to generate a corrected image pixel value. The corrected image pixel value is then compared to at least two threshold values, each corresponding to a pixel value of the dither image, to determine a threshold value that is nearest to the corrected image pixel value, thereby obtaining a pixel value of the dither image corresponding to said threshold value.
