Abstract:
A method is provided for detecting gesture inputs in response to a consecutive reciprocating movement before a detecting device, wherein, the consecutive reciprocating movement is made of a first type of gesture and a second type of gesture, each capable of being recognized by the detecting device to output a different control signal. The method comprises the steps of receiving the consecutive reciprocating movement starting with a first type of gesture among the two types, wherein, the first type of gesture and the second type of gesture occur alternately, and outputting control signals corresponding to the first type of gesture with times number equaling to the number of the first of type gesture contained within the consecutive reciprocating movement.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed herein for retrieving network traffic data. In one embodiment, a networking apparatus comprises a memory; a network device; and a processing unit coupled to the network device and the memory. The processing unit is operable to execute a data engine that performs bulk data transfers from the network device periodically into a data buffer in the memory and translates data received from the network device, based on a mapping definition, into a user defined format for export to one or more applications running on networking apparatus.
Abstract:
It is provided a method for delivering a 3D content comprising a 2D part and a metadata part which are divided into equal number of segments and are transmitted in two multicast streams, the method comprising the steps of receiving a request for the 3D content with a starting time point corresponding to a starting segment of the 2D part and a starting segment of the metadata part; and scheduling the transmission of at least one segment of the 2D part including the starting segment of the 2D part in a first multicast stream and the transmission of at least one segment of the metadata part including the starting segment of the metadata part in a second multicast stream, wherein, the transmission of the starting segment of the 2D part and the transmission of the starting segment of the metadata part are synchronized.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel quinoxaline derivatives and their use in an organic light-emitting diode device. The quinoxaline derivative is of luminescence and rigidity, can increase glass transition temperature (Tg) and has better thermal stability, and thus can be used as a hole transporting layer, a host or guest of an emitting layer or an electron transporting layer of an organic light-emitting diode device.
Abstract:
A connector assembly includes a connector and two screws. The connector includes a main body, a cable connected to a rear side of the main body, and a connection portion protruding from a front side of the main body. Two threaded holes are defined in opposite ends of the main body, respectively. Two resilient fixing portions protrude from the rear side of the main body. A through hole is defined in each of the fixing portions. The screws are detachably received into the corresponding through holes of the fixing portions, and operable to mount the connector to an object by extending through the threaded holes to engage with the object.
Abstract:
Spectrum sensing in wireless communications is provided to identify utilized and/or unutilized frequency bands reserved for primary users using a cyclostationary beamforming approach. An adaptive cross self-coherent restoral (ACS) algorithm can be utilized to extract signals of interest (SOI) at unique cycle frequencies related to primary and/or secondary users from an antenna array measurement. Based on the SOI, one or more users of the spectrum can be identified or the spectrum can be regarded as vacant; this can be based on lobe identification in the frequency spectrum of the SOI, in one example. This mechanism is less complex than traditional cyclic spectrum analysis methods. The cyclostationary beamforming based approach is more effective than the energy detection method. Also, the need for quiet periods in spectrum sensing is eliminated when using this mechanism such that signals can be transmitted simultaneously with receiving signals over the antenna array.

Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for transmitting a 3D model associated to stereoscopic content are described, and more specifically a method and an apparatus for the progressive transmission of 3D models. Also described are a method and an apparatus for preparing a 3D model associated to a 3D video frame for transmission and a non-transient recording medium comprising such a prepared 3D model. The 3D model is split into one or more components. It is then determined whether a component of the one or more components is hidden by other 3D content. For transmission those components of the 3D model that are not hidden by other 3D content are transmitted first. The remaining components of the 3D model are transmitted subsequently.
Abstract:
An exercise bike, comprising two footboards, six wheels, and four straight shafts with trapezoid-headed ends, is provided. Symmetrically arranged in the disk of each wheel are two eccentrical trapezoid apertures. The ends of the shafts are orthogonally inserted into the trapezoid apertures of the wheels, to form a wheel frame, thus avoiding the possibility of assembling the exercise bike improperly. The wheels are arranged in three lines, and the middle portions of the shafts are supported by bearings at the bottom of the boards and can rotate freely thereon. The bike can further be assembled into a safety-type exercise bike, or a massage-type one. When the footboards are threaded, the bike will move forward in a fluctuating manner. The various parts can leave the factory in separate packages for the customers to assemble on their own. The products can therefore be transported in large quantities and over long distances.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method and apparatus for rendering an object for a plurality of 3D displays. The method comprises determining one of the plurality of 3D displays to render the object according to the relationship, in a global coordinate system, the position of the object and a region defined from a user's eyes to the 3D display; and rendering the object on the determined 3D display.
