Abstract:
An illustrative method manages configuration information of electronic gaming machines (EGMs) and maintains server configuration information at a server that supports EGMs in a server-client relationship. The server configuration information contains stored information about the configuration of each EGM. EGM configuration information transmitted from the EMGs is received at the server. The server and EGM configuration information each contains corresponding fields with values representing information about predetermined factors. The values in the fields of the server configuration information are compared with the values in corresponding fields of the EGM configuration information. A report is generated based on the comparison.
Abstract:
A system for managing wagering game content is described herein. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a wagering game machine management server. The wagering game server can include a content controller configured to receive wagering game content and load the wagering game content onto a wagering game machine over the network. The wagering game server can also include a compatibility controller configured to determine whether the wagering game content is compatible with the wagering game machine. Additionally, the wagering game server can include a license controller configured to receive licensing information and to use the licensing information to activate the wagering game content.
Abstract:
A method of playing a wagering game comprises permitting a first configuration of the wagering game to be played via a gaming terminal, detecting a loss of communication between the gaming terminal and a server, and in response to detecting the loss of communication, permitting a second configuration of the wagering game to be played via the gaming terminal.
Abstract:
A method for storing data includes establishing a space efficient storage system including a virtual repository, a staging repository and a remote repository. The virtual repository includes a first pointer to the staging repository, and the staging repository includes a second pointer to the remote repository. The method further includes receiving data at the virtual repository, storing the received data in the staging repository based on the first pointer, and determining a data access frequency based on the storage in the staging repository. In addition, the method includes comparing the determined data access frequency to a threshold frequency and transferring the stored data to the remote repository based on the second pointer and comparison and storing the stored data at the staging repository based on the comparison.
Abstract:
A technique for providing assistance to a user of a system includes receiving a current command entered into a command line interface of the system and determining a current state of a system. Command help for the current command is then generated based on the current state of the system.
Abstract:
A system is presented to allow users in an instant messaging environment to edit already-exchanged messages dynamically, and resend the edited version of the message to the target users, as an example. The newly edited message received by the second user is clearly understandable because the corrected parts of the message have been tagged. Depending on the implementation, either a new complete and corrected message is sent, or the sent message indicates the recent editions. The advantage of this solution is that all that the altering user should do is to go over the communication text, change or edit the text, and press ENTER.
Abstract:
A gaming terminal is utilized for playing a wagering game. The gaming terminal includes a wager-input device and a display for displaying the wagering game. The wagering game includes a randomly-selected outcome selected from a plurality of outcomes in response to a wager input received via the wager-input device. The plurality of outcomes include at least one outcome that awards standard credits and bonus tokens. A credit output device outputs a value of the standard credits and the bonus tokens in response to achieving the at least one outcome. The bonus tokens are exchangeable for a special event on a second gaming terminal.
Abstract:
Systems and methods provide a gaming machine and server framework environment that is operating system independent. One aspect of the systems and methods includes providing a set of framework components that present a common interface regardless of the underlying operating system used on the gaming machine or server. A further aspect of the systems and methods include various plug-in services (320) that use the framework (302) to communicate and interact with one another A still further aspect includes providing an emulator providing the ability for a gaming application or service designed for one operating system to be run on different operating system.
Abstract:
A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In some embodiments, the operations can include receiving first application data from a first application, where the first application data describes a first characteristic of first content from the first application. The first application presents the first content during a wagering game session. The operations can further include determining a relationship between the first characteristic and a second characteristic of second content of a second application that presents the second content during the wagering game session while the first application presents the first content. The operations can further include modifying the second content dynamically based on the relationship between the first characteristic and the second characteristic.
Abstract:
A data transfer application implemented in a computational device receives a request to copy a plurality of storage volumes that form a consistency group. A determination is made that a first storage volume of the plurality of storage volumes is more likely to be written into than a second storage volume of the plurality of storage volumes, in response to receiving the request to copy the plurality of storage volumes. The first storage volume is copied before copying the second storage volume, in response to determining that the first storage volume is more likely to be written into than the second storage volume.
