    摘要: An evacuated envelope has a rectangular display section and a gun section at one side of the display section. The display section includes rectangular front and back walls in closely spaced, substantially parallel relation, and a plurality of spaced, substantially parallel support walls between the front and back walls forming a plurality of parallel channels. The gun section extends across one end of the channels and includes gun structure which will selectively direct one or more electron beams along each of the channels. In each of the channels is a beam guide which utilizes "slalom focusing" to confine the electrons in a direction normal to the front and back walls and guide the beam along the length of the channel wherein the electron beam is confined to an undulating path along the channel. The beam guide also includes means for laterally confining the electrons in the beam. The beam guide also permits selective deflection of the electron beam out of the guide toward a phosphor screen on the inner surface of the front wall.

    摘要: A display is disclosed having crossover connections effecting polarity inversion. The display includes a panel comprising a subpixel repeating group having an even number of repeating subpixels in a first direction. The display also includes a driver circuit coupled to the panel to provide image data signals effecting polarity inversion to the panel. The display also includes a plurality of crossover connections from the driver circuit to the columns of the panel such that polarities of same color subpixels in the first direction alternate at a spatial frequency sufficient to abate undesirable visual effects on the panel when an image is displayed thereon; each crossover connection applying the same polarity to each subpixel in the column.

    摘要: A display device having subpixel repeating groups is presented. Each subpixel repeating group has an even number of four or more subpixels and includes odd-numbered subpixels and even-numbered subpixels alternately arranged in a row direction, each subpixel having a color. A data driver is configured to provide data signals to the subpixels such that the odd-numbered subpixels have a polarity that is opposite that of the even-numbered subpixels in each of the subpixel repeating groups. A first subpixel repeating group and a second subpixel repeating group are adjacent in the row direction. The first subpixel of the first subpixel repeating group and the first subpixel of the second subpixel repeating group have the same color and opposite polarities.

    摘要: Liquid crystal display backplane layouts and addressing for non-standard subpixel arrangements are disclosed. A liquid crystal display comprises a panel and a plurality of transistors. The panel substantially comprises a subpixel repeating group having an even number of subpixels in a first direction. Each thin film transistor connects one subpixel to a row and a column line at an intersection in one of a group of quadrants. The group comprises a first quadrant, a second quadrant, a third quadrant and a fourth quadrant, wherein the thin film transistors are formed in a backplane structure adjacent to intersections of the row and column lines. The thin film transistors are also substantially formed in more than one quadrant in the backplane structure.
