The present invention provides a method and system for transmitting a bearer control mode in a roaming scenario. The method includes: a home Policy and Charging Rules Function (hPCRF) sets a bearer control mode of an IP Connectivity Access Network (IP-CAN) session, and forwards the bearer control mode of the IP-CAN session to a visited Policy and Charging Rules Function (vPCRF) through an S9 subsession corresponding to the IP-CAN session; or, an hPCRF sets a bearer control mode of a gateway control session, and forwards the bearer control mode of the gateway control session to the vPCRF through an S9 subsession corresponding to the gateway control session. The system of the present invention includes an hPCRF and a vPCRF. The present invention enables the hPCRF to select different bearer control modes for a plurality of IP-CAN sessions established by a User Equipment (UE) and to forward to the vPCRF, and the vPCRF can further send the bearer control modes to the corresponding enforcement network elements to be executed.

The method includes: a Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) informs a Traffic Detection Function (TDF) of an IPv4 address via a TDF session established for the IP-CAN session if a gateway where the PCEF is located or another external network element allocates the IPv4 address according to a request of the UE and the UE accesses a service using the IPv4 address, after the UE establishes the IP-CAN session and accesses a service using an IPv6 address in the IP-CAN session supporting dual stack; and the TDF performs application detection and control on traffic, of which the source address and/or the destination address is/are the IPv4 address, according to an Application Detection and Control (ADC) rule related to the TDF session. With the method of the disclosure, the PCRF will no longer initiate a request for establishing a new TDF session, in this way, the service detection for one same IP-CAN session needs to be reported via one same TDF session only, thus, resources are saved and signalling overhead is reduced.

The method includes: a PCRF or BPCF receives a first session from a fixed network, wherein the first session carries an IP address and a port number set; the PCRF or BPCF receives a second session from an AF or a Traffic Detection Function (TDF), wherein the second session carries an IP address and port number information; and the PCRF or BPCF binds the first session to the second session according to the IP addresses and the port number information. The disclosure solves the problem of inaccurate session binding in the scenario where a mobile terminal directly accesses mobile network services via a fixed network.
