摘要： An information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and an information providing medium are provided. Encrypted information, an encrypted first key for decrypting the encrypted information, and a second key for decrypting the first key are processed to store the information in a storage medium. To be more specific, cross certification is executed with the storage medium, the first key is decrypted by the second key, the decrypted first key is encrypted, and the decrypted first key and the encrypted information are stored in the storage medium. The novel constitution prevents unauthorized replication of information by use of a low-cost, general-purpose semiconductor memory.

摘要： A data processing system, recording device, data processing method and program providing medium are provided to execute authentication processing and content storing processing between apparatuses. Program localization is employed to restrict access to program content. A plurality of key blocks store key data for authentication processing. Key block designation information is set in a recorder/reproducer, which is configured for executing authentication processing with the recording device by designating a key block. The recorder/reproducer can set a key block for each product, model or the like. In addition, data stored according to a selected key block cannot be utilized in a recorder/reproducer in which a different key block is set. Furthermore, an encryption processing controlling section of a recording device executes control in accordance with a pre-defined setting sequence. Furthermore, an illegal instrument that has not completed the authentication processing can be prevented from utilizing program content.

摘要： The present invention allows content to be transferred with source equipment retaining the content.Content is transferred to destination equipment while at the same time it is retained on the source equipment. This allows the content to be used on both source and destination equipment in contrast to the usual move operation in which content is removed from the source equipment and used only on the destination equipment. While content is under transferred control, the source equipment cannot transfer the control of the content to any third equipment. Thus, the content is held only on the two pieces of equipment: the source equipment and destination equipment. In this respect, content control transfer differs from the first-generation duplication which can produce multiple duplicates (first-generation) from the original content. Also, content control transfer differs from one-time duplication in that content control can be transferred to third equipment if the content is returned from the source equipment.

摘要： A person authentication system capable of performing personal authentication by comparing templates that is personal identification data with sampling information input by a user is disclosed. For example, a service provider (SP) or a user device (UD) acquires the templates from a person identification certificate (IDC) generated by a personal identification certificate authority that is a third party to thereby perform personal authentication. The IDC stores data, such as a certificate identifier and a user identifier, in accordance with a format, and also stores encrypted templates in a manner that the data can be decrypted by an entity that performs authentication. This arrangement achieves efficient template retrieval and a personal authentication process, as well as effective prevention of the templates from being leaking out.

摘要： Disclosed are a person authentication system, a person authentication method, and an information processing apparatus which allow person authentication to be performed in an easy fashion in various devices by comparing a template serving as person identification data with sampling information input by a user. A service provider (SP) or user device (UD) executes person authentication by acquiring a template from a person identification certificate (IDC) generated by a third-party agency serving as a person identification certificate authority (IDA). The IDA acquires a template serving as identification data after verifying a person requesting an IDC to be issued, and generates the IDC storing template information. The IDA distributes the IDC having a digital signature of the IDA added thereto to the SP and the UD.
