The method receives a communications signal (10) which is transmitted via a channel, where the communications signal comprises received known pilot data (DP) and received information data (DI), the known pilot data and information data being sequentially transmitted. The method then estimates a first channel impulse response (52) for the channel, wherein the first channel impulse response is in response to the received pilot data. Next, the method determines (54) a group of estimated information data in response to the first channel impulse response. Next, the method estimates a second channel impulse response (56) for the channel in response to the estimated information data. Thereafter, the method forms (56) a combined channel impulse response for the channel, using differing weights as applied to the first and second channel impulse responses.

The method also determines (42) one or more survey groups at the receiver, wherein each survey group comprises of a unique combination of one or more new paths and zero or more current paths. Still further, the method determines a quality measure (52) of the current path group and (53) of one or more survey groups. Further, the method selectively assigns (62) a selected one of the survey groups to respective elements of the demodulator in place of the current path group in response to a comparison of the quality measure of the selected one of the survey groups with the quality measure of the current path group. Finally, the quality measure is responsive to a power of each path in a group and multiple forms of diversity within a group.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for a User Equipment to transmit acknowledgement information together with data information to a base station during a Transmission Time Interval. A number of nominal resources for the transmission of the first set of AIBs is compared to a number of resources available to the UE for transmission of the acknowledgement information. The first set of AIBs is transmitted if the number of nominal resources is less than or equal to the number of available resources. A second set of AIBs is selected from the first set of AIBs and bundling operations are performed over respective distinct subsets of AIBs in the second set of AIBs to obtain a third set of AIBs if the number of nominal resources is greater than the number of available resources. The third set of AIBs and a fourth set of AIBs are transmitted.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) to a network in a communication system. A bandwidth allocated by the network to transmissions of one or more random access channels is determined. An SRS bandwidth configuration is reconfigured by setting a maximum bandwidth value of the SRS bandwidth configuration to a value that avoids overlapping the bandwidth allocated to transmissions of the one or more random access channels. The SRS is transmitted in accordance with a bandwidth from the reconfigured SRS bandwidth configuration. Information regarding the SRS bandwidth configuration is provided to a User Equipment (UE) by the network.
