Abstract: An encoder outputs a first bit sequence having N bits. A mapper generates a first complex signal s1 and a second complex signal s2 with use of bit sequence having X+Y bits included in an input second bit sequence, where X indicates the number of bits used to generate the first complex signal s1 , and Y indicates the number of bits used to generate the second complex signal s2 . A bit length adjuster is provided after the encoder, and performs bit length adjustment on the first bit sequence such that the second bit sequence has a bit length that is a multiple of X+Y, and outputs the first bit sequence after the bit length adjustment as the second bit sequence. As a result, a problem between a codeword length of a block code and the number of bits necessary to perform mapping by a set of modulation schemes is solved.

Abstract: A wireless communication system includes one or more base stations, and one or more user devices, UEs. The base station transmits data to a UE being served by the base station, the data including control data and user data, the user data including at least first user data and second user data, the first user data associated with a first service and second data associated with second service, the first and second services having one or more different transmission requirements. Responsive to receiving in the control data a grant for a feedback transmission, the UE sends a feedback to the base station, the feedback indicating for one or more data blocks of the data a successful or non-successful reception at the UE. The control data includes a first downlink assignment index (DAI) associated with the first data, and a second DAI associated with the second data.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for truncated identification indicators. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a truncating configuration for an identification indicator. The truncating configuration may indicate a set of bits within an initial identification indicator to remove to generate a truncated identification indicator. The UE may remove the indicated set of bits and transmit the truncated identification indicator to a base station. The base station may receive the truncated identification indicator and reconstruct the initial identification indicator according to the truncating configuration. The base station may reconstruct the initial identification indicator by adding the set of bits (e.g., removed by the UE to generate the truncated identification indicator) to the truncated identification indicator.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for facilitating dynamic measurement power offset adjustments for use in reporting channel quality feedback. A user equipment may generate and send a plurality of channel quality indicator (CQI) values to a base station. The base station determines whether at least some of the received CQI values are outside of an upper or lower threshold value. If at least some of the received CQI values are outside the upper or lower threshold value, the base station can transmit an adjusted measurement power offset to the user equipment. On receipt of the adjusted measurement power offset, the user equipment generates subsequent CQI values using the adjusted measurement power offset.

Abstract: A method of a user equipment (UE) for a channel state information (CSI) feedback in an advanced communication system. The method comprises receiving, from a base station (BS), CSI feedback configuration information for a pre-coding matrix indicator (PMI) feedback based on a linear combination (LC) codebook, wherein the PMI comprises a first PMI (i1) and a second PMI (i2), determining the first PMI (i1) and the second PMI (i2) indicating an LC pre-coder that corresponds to a weighted linear combination of a first beam and a second beam, wherein the first PMI (i1) includes a first beam indicator (i1,1, i1,2) and a second beam indicator (i1,3) that indicate the first beam and a distance (d1, d2) of the second beam in accordance with the first beam, respectively; and the second PMI (i2) indicates weights assigned to the first beam and the second beam. The method further comprises transmitting, to the BS, the CSI feedback over an uplink channel including the determined first PMI (i1) and the second PMI (i2).

Abstract: Channel state feedback is provided from a UE to a base station as a first, detailed or a second, less detailed type of channel state feedback information. Initially it is determined whether the UE has received an uplink grant from the base station or not. If the UE has received an uplink grant, a first type of channel state feedback information is transmitted to the base station on the granted resource. If, however, the UE has not received an uplink grant, a second type of channel state feedback information is transmitted to the base station. Different types of channel state feedback information enables a UE and an associated base station to use available resources more efficiently, when requesting for and delivering channel state feedback information.
