A method for merging images of an object is provided. The method includes the steps of: (a) reading the images in a storage merging all the images to form a logic rectangle rcA, and calculating a reduction scale S of the logic rectangle rcA; (b) calculating a reduction scale S of the logic rectangle rcA; (c) generating a image rcC by reducing the logic rectangle rcA according to the reduction scale S and a coordinate mapping; (d) reading all the pixel rectangles rcB; (e) reducing each of the pixel rectangles rcB according to the reduction scale S to generate an image rcD; and (f) incorporating all the generated images rcD to the image rcC according to the coordinate mapping to form an overall image of the object. A related system is also disclosed.

A system for measuring an image of an object is provided. The system includes a measuring machine and an application server. The application server includes: an edge searching module for finding outlines of an image of an under-measurement object based on gray scale of points in the image and around the image; a measuring module for constructing an applicable coordinate system for the image, and computing structural data of structural patterns of the image using the constructed coordinate system; and a process recording module for recording measuring process as a corresponding procedure instruction while measuring the under-measurement object and generating an automatic measurement program according to the procedure instruction. A related method is also disclosed.

In a method for identifying border lines of elements on an image of an object using a computing device, a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) name and one or more measuring parameters are received from the computing device. A DLL is obtained according to the received DLL name. Measuring functions of the obtained DLL are provided for selection. A constructed function of the DLL is obtained according to the number and types of the received measuring parameters to transmit the received measuring parameters to a selected measuring function. Coordinates of points on the image are computed according to the received measuring parameters using the selected measuring function, and a border line of an element on the image is fitted according to the coordinates of the points.

The method also includes searching all the boundary points in the region, forming an impurity if the last boundary point coincides with the first boundary point, seed filling the impurity and calculating an area value, and comparing the area value with an allowable area value to determine whether the impurity satisfies impurity specifications.
