摘要: Techniques for providing camera based code reading are disclosed. In some aspects, a camera-readable code is generated which may be read by a code reading device. The code reading device may capture an image of the code, process the image, and decode the code. The code includes symbols arranged to form a pattern. According to one or more embodiments, an image with the code is cropped to remove extraneous information. The code image is manipulated by exact binary segmentation to remove background information from the code. The code is oriented to a grid using an interval value defined between the symbols. The symbols are decoded by comparing unique aspects of the symbols using a statistical analysis. The decoded symbols may be converted to a message for a user or be used for other purposes.

摘要: A video clip is processed by selecting a plurality of video frames of the video clip. A plurality of the pixels of the selected video frames are modified to form modified video frames. The modification to each of the plurality of the pixels is based on the intensity of the pixel, a change in the intensity of the pixel from the corresponding pixel in at least one related video frame, and the intensity of the corresponding pixel. A second video clip is formed that comprises the modified video clips.

摘要: A method and system for presenting data on a medium for capture by an input device is described. The method embeds a symbol design, such as an embedded interaction code (EIC), in an image on a display screen, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD). A grid with a plurality of pixels defines a size of an EIC pattern on an LCD. An area of the grid is used to embed position data and/or metadata information. The area may be defined by a sub-pixel of the plurality of pixels and/or the edges of the grid itself. The sub-pixel with the EIC pattern may be configured to have a grey value based upon a color of an underlying image associated with an application program being displayed on the LCD. The method also allows for decoding of the position data and/or metadata information in the EIC pattern on the LCD.

摘要: In accordance with embodiments of the invention, global metadata, such as a document identifier, which may be a globally unique identifier, is embedded into an embedded interactive code document by combining a first m-array and a plurality of copies of the first m-array to generate a combined m-array with encoded global metadata such that respective start positions (xd,yd)i of the plurality of copies of the first m-array in the combined m-array are each shifted, by respective amounts that are based on respective portions of the global metadata, relative to a start position of the first m-array in the combined m-array. Global metadata may be decoded from the combined m-array by determining the respective amounts by which the plurality of copies of the first m-array are shifted, relative to the first m-array, in the combined m-array and by combining the respective amounts to produce a decoded value of the global metadata.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention relate to decoding encoded barcode information from a camera-captured image by generating a binarized sequence from the camera-captured image and decoding the encoded barcode information from the binarized sequence. The camera-captured image is transformed into a preprocessed grayscale image, reducing noise and enhancing contrast between bars and spaces in the preprocessed image. A barcode orientation is identified that is parallel to bars in the preprocessed image. A projected sequence is generated by projecting pixels of the preprocessed image along the barcode orientation. The binarized sequence is generated by applying a threshold to detected peaks and valleys of the projected sequence. A barcode-encoding sequence is generated, from the binarized sequence, in which each barcode bar module and each barcode space module is represented by a single respective bit in the barcode-encoding sequence. The barcode encoded information is extracted from the barcode-encoding sequence.

摘要: The universal input device provides a common user interface for a variety of different computing platforms including printed documents. Using the present system, one may use the universal input device to control various computing devices as well as capture handwritten electronic ink and have the electronic ink be associated with new or stored documents. The universal input device can be identified by a specific identification in order to allow for multiple users to operate on a document and/or within an application program simultaneously or not. An off-set optical system with infrared illumination handles perspective and helps detect positional encoding which can be covered by existing ink under common visible light illumination.
