摘要： A locking device is employed for receiving and removably retaining therein a stretchable or elastic lace. The locking device comprises a base member having generally parallel flat first and second principal surfaces. The first principal surface of the base member includes a pair of rib members and a pair of wall members with grooves formed therebetween. The locking device further includes a decorative cover member generally in the shape of and configured to simulate a three-dimensional character, figure, design, or object. The cover member has a generally flat first surface which includes a pair of rib members and a pair of wall members that form grooves therebetween. The base member is secured to the cover member with the respective first surfaces facing each other such that the rib members and grooves are aligned and the wall members are in engagement. The aligned rib members establish open areas of a size sufficient for passing portions of a stretched lace therethrough and the aligned grooves establish lace receiving areas large enough for receiving the stretched lace portions passing through the open areas but small enough to grip and hold the received lace portions when in an unstretched condition.

A valve seat (64) is disposed between the fluid inlet (60) and the fluid outlet (68), and a valve closure member in the form of a piston (62) sliding in a cylinder (60), and a diaphragm (56), is engageable with the valve seat.A chamber (77) for receiving coolant (e.g. liquid nitrogen) is located on the side of the diaphragm (56) opposite the valve seat (64), and by thus cooling the diaphragm, fluid material in contact with the valve closure member is also cooled, and preferably condensed or frozen.The invention removes the requirement for a U- or T-shaped cold trap as used in conventional systems.

摘要： A device and process for stabilizing two coaxially joined flexible magnetic disks is disclosed. Two or more flexible magnetic disks are coaxially joined by a coaxially located spacer. One of the disks is juxtaposed to and rotated against a flat stable Bernoulli surface. A second disk spaced by the spacer from the first disk contains centrally located perforations into which air can flow. According to certain embodiments, a flexible interdisk wiper is positioned between the disks and aids in stabilization thereof. In other embodiments, top and bottom disk wipers are also included.

The clamping assembly can include clamping members that are moveable relative to each other to clamp onto a clamped member between the two clamping members. One or more gripping members can be attached to the spool to hold a wire that is wound onto the spool. A driving mechanism can be attached to the spool. The driving mechanism can be configured to rotate the spool and wind the wire onto the spool. A cable-ripping tool can be clamped onto a cable. A portion of a wire from the cable can be gripped with a gripping member of the tool. This gripping can include moving the gripping member relative to a spool of the cable-ripping tool. The spool can be rotated so that the wire rips through a jacket of the cable and winds onto the spool.
