摘要: An attenuated hinge spring assembly for a trunk lid of an automotive vehicle includes a coiled spring which is connected to a bracket secured to the vehicle, a threaded stud which is secured to the bracket, a plate which is slidably mounted on the bracket and the stud, a nut rotatably attached to said threaded stud and selectively secured to an arm, and a washer which lies between the plate and the nut. The plate lies adjacent to the coiled spring. The arm is pivotally connected to the trunk lid and to the bracket. The spring is connected to the stud and the arm and uncoils as the arm pivots from a lowered position to a raised position to move the lid between a lowered position and a raised position. When the lid is raised, the arm rotates which causes the nut to rotate and translate along the stud, which in turn causes the washer and plate to translate along said stud. The plate moves against the coiled spring and frictionally brakes the spring and the nut to slow the momentum of the lid as the lid is being raised.

摘要: An integral fuel line for use in a fuel injection type of fuel distribution system for motor vehicles includes an innermost tube defining a high pressure line, an intermediate tube defining a low pressure line, and an outer tube defining a vapor recovery line. The innermost tube has a first passage for delivering fuel from a storage tank to an engine cylinder of a motor vehicle. The intermediate tube is spaced from and surrounds the innermost tube to form a second passage therebetween for returning the unused portion of fuel back to the storage tank. The outer tube is spaced from and surrounds the inatermediate tube to form a third passage therebetween for returning vaporized and evaporated fuel back to the storage tank.

摘要: Method and apparatus for the coating of a substrate wherein the following chronologically takes place under vacuum conditions: (i) non-oxidized plating material is deposited on the substrate via ion vapor deposition; and (ii) a coating material is chemically bonded with the non-oxidized plating material. The coating material may comprise a primer, which chemically bonds with the non-oxidized plating material, and a polymer, which impregnates the primer-prepared plating material. Said polymer may also chemically bond with the primer. Alternatively, the coating material may comprise an epoxy which forms an organo-metallic bond with the plating material. In another embodiment of the invention, the coating material may comprise boron trifluoride, which chemcially bonds with the non-oxidized plating material, and a polymer, which impregnates the boron trifluoride-prepared plating material. Alternatively, the coating material may comprise calcium, silicon, and oxygen which chemically bonds with the plating material. The coating material may be bifunctional, in that it not only chemically bonds with the plating material but also bonds with a second coating material, yielding a chemically bonded uniform coating with desired results.
