摘要: A display device (806) is driven by a video processing unit (804) in a number of sub-fields, each for outputting a respective illumination level by the display device. In each sub-field, a pixel of the displayed image may emit an amount of light corresponding to the particular sub-field, depending on whether it is switched on or not. Based on motion estimation, the desired intensity level of a particular pixel at the time point corresponding with the current sub-field is calculated. Subsequently, it is determined how much light has been generated by the pixels along the motion vector of the particular pixel and accumulated in the eye of a human observer. Then a target intensity level is calculated on the basis of the desired level and the already accumulated level. Based on this target level it is decided whether the particular pixel is to be lit in the current sub-field.

摘要: In a method of chrominance signal interpolation, in which output chrominance signals (OUTUV) are interpolated (MED) from mutually corresponding input chrominance signals (INUV(N−1), INUV(N)) from mutually neighboring input images, a color saturation value of at least one of the output chrominance signals (OUTUV) is smaller than an average of color saturation values of the mutually corresponding input chrominance signals (INUV(N−1), INUV(N)) corresponding to the one output chrominance signal (OUTUV) if the mutually corresponding input chrominance signals (INUV(N−1), INUV(N)) meet a predetermined criterion. The expression “corresponding” relates to the chrominance signals concerned (INUV(N−1), INUV(N)) correspond both as to spatial positions in the mutually neighboring input images (N, N−1) and as to chrominance values, i.e., either U/I or V/Q. The criterion may be that the reference value (REF) lies between the corresponding input chrominance signals (INUV(N−1), INUV(N)), or that differences between the corresponding input chrominance signals (INUV(N−1), INUV(N)) exceed a predetermined threshold.

摘要: In a television transmission system, an encoding circuit in a data generator transmits (or stores) identification information relating to variable numbers of television lines or variable portions of television lines in which luminance and chrominance information occur, compressed where appropriate. The data receiver includes a simple, properly adaptable decoding circuit which comprises presettable counters for counting portions of television lines and for counting television lines, outputs of these counters being coupled to address inputs of a programmable memory which is coupled to a multiplexer which is switchable by the identification information and is followed by a logic circuit for generating control signals for a chrominance memory having the same write and read rates and for luminance and chrominance memories having said write rates and several read rates, under the control of a clock pulse source which is switchable via the logic circuit and the identification information. In the data generator the encoding circuit may be of a similar construction combined with luminance and chrominance memories having different write rates and the read rate mentioned in the foregoing.

摘要: A device and a method for extracting information from detected characteristic signals are provided. A data stream (26) derivable from electromagnetic radiation (20) emitted or reflected by an object (10) is received. The data stream (26) includes a continuous or discrete characteristic signal (68) including physiological information (30) indicative of desired object motion to be detected and utilized so as to extract at least one at least partially periodic vital signal of interest. A plurality of characteristic index elements (60) can be derived from the data stream (26) through a dimensional reduction (66). The plurality of characteristic index elements (60) includes a directional motion component (70) associated with a disturbance-reduced index element (40) having a determined orientation substantially aligned with a reference motion direction (41) indicative of the desired object motion. Consequently, dimensional reduced data can be utilized for detecting the vital signal of interest.
