Abstract: A system and method for standardized teeth whiteness measurement and monitoring teeth whitening progress using a portable electronic device are disclosed. The system includes an application that assists users in aligning their teeth with an on-screen alignment guide. It further ensures standardized lighting conditions for image capture through adjustable illumination zones, adjusted according to ambient lighting and the specific characteristics of the device. Post-alignment, users have the option to manually outline a selected portion of their teeth for whiteness analysis. This manual outline aids in maintaining consistent positioning for images captured over time. The device's control processor stores these images, sends reminders for future captures, and generates playback sequences, enabling chronological tracking of teeth whitening progress. Whiteness scores for each analyzed image are calculated using a predetermined algorithm available through the device, making it easier to monitor teeth whitening progress over time without the need for regular dental visits.

Abstract: Systems and methods for performing a medical imaging analysis task are provided. A pre-contrast medical image and a plurality of post-contrast medical images of an anatomical object of a patient are received. A mask of the anatomical object is generated based on at least one of 1) the pre-contrast medical image or 2) one or more of the plurality of post-contrast medical images. One or more processed post-contrast medical images each associated with a respective feature are generated based on the plurality of post-contrast medical images and the mask of the anatomical object. A medical imaging analysis task is performed using a machine learning based network based on the one or more processed post-contrast medical images and the pre-contrast medical image masked with the mask of the anatomical object. Results of the medical imaging analysis task are output.

Abstract: A system for deforming a plurality of particles carried in a sample volume includes a reusable substrate defining an inlet, configured to receive the sample volume, and an outlet, wherein the inlet or outlet is configured to couple to a module to introduce or collect a washing or flushing solution. A fluidic pathway is disposed in the reusable substrate and fluidically couples to the inlet and the outlet and includes a delivery region fluidically coupled to the inlet and configured to focus the plurality of particles along at least one streamline and a deformation region located downstream with respect to the delivery region and formed by an intersection of the fluidic pathway and an opposing inlet channel, wherein flow of a fluid from the opposing inlet channel at the intersection mechanically deforms the plurality of particles passing through the deformation region.

Abstract: A voxel-based technique is provided for performing quantitative imaging and analysis of tissue image data. Serial image data is collected for tissue of interest at different states of the issue. The collected image data may be deformably registered, after which the registered image data is analyzed on a voxel-by-voxel basis, thereby retaining spatial information for the analysis. Various thresholds are applied to the registered tissue data to identify a tissue condition or state, such as classifying chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by disease phenotype in lung tissue, for example.
