    Abstract: This application provides a deregistration method and a communication apparatus. The method may include: receiving a first message from a first mobility management network element, where the first message carries first information which is onboarding indication information or time information of a first deregistration timer on the first mobility management network element; starting a second deregistration timer based on the first information; and upon expiry of the second deregistration timer, triggering a deregistration procedure, to deregister a terminal device from a network. In this application, after mobility management network element redirection, the deregistration timer can still be started on the new mobility management network element that supports onboarding. Upon expiry of the deregistration timer, the deregistration procedure is triggered to deregister the terminal device from the network, to prevent the terminal device from camping on the network indefinitely.

    Abstract: A communication method, a communications apparatus, and a communications system, where the method includes: a first network element receiving identity information of a terminal from a second network element, where the identity information includes an identity of the terminal or an identity of a group of the terminal; the first network element obtaining, based on the identity information, type information of a serving network corresponding to the identity information; and the first network element sending API information of the first network element based on the type information. Based on this method, the second network element can select an available API based on the API information or the type information of the serving network and invoke the available API.

    Abstract: This application relates to the field of communications technologies. This application discloses a method, an apparatus, a network device, and a system for releasing an IP (Internet protocol) address, to resolve a problem that a time at which the IP address is released is not precise. The method includes: determining, by the first network device, that a PDU session anchor needs to be relocated from a first user plane function entity, where the first user plane function entity is the PDU session anchor of a first PDU session of a terminal; determining, by the first network device, that a first IP address of the terminal is no longer used, where the first IP address is an IP address used by the terminal in the first PDU session; and releasing, by the first network device, the first IP address.

    Abstract: A routing rule configuration method and a communications apparatus are provided. In the method, after receiving a PDU session establishment request from a first terminal, a session management function network element generates, based on first information including information used to indicate to forward a data packet through an N6 interface, a routing rule used to indicate to send the data packet of a 5G LAN group to which the first terminal belongs to the N6 interface or discard the data packet. The session management function network element can determine a routing rule for an N6-based forwarding manner based on the first information.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a downlink data transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a user plane device, downlink data of a terminal, sending, by the user plane device, the downlink data by using a shared bearer to an access network device that is in a tracking area of the terminal, receiving, by the access network device, a context setup request message sent by a control plane device, setting up, by the access network device, a radio bearer between the access network device and the terminal based on the context setup request message, and sending, by the access network device, the downlink data to the terminal by using the radio bearer. In this way, a downlink data transmission delay is reduced and downlink data transmission efficiency is improved.

    Abstract: A method for determining a service and session continuity (SSC) mode and an apparatus, where the method includes: determining, by a terminal device, a requested SSC mode; and sending a first request message to a first core network element, where the first request message is used to request to establish a first protocol data unit (PDU) session, and the first request message includes a session type of the first PDU session, the requested SSC mode, and first indication information. The first request message sent by the terminal device to the first core network element may carry the first indication information, used to indicate that the SSC mode requested by the terminal device is not allowed to be modified, to prevent a network-side network element from subsequently making an erroneous decision, for example, modifying the requested SSC mode to another SSC mode that is not supported by the terminal device.
