The inclination detection apparatus further includes a light detector for generating a detection signal in accordance with a light amount of the beam reflected by the information memory medium, the light detector including a first light receiving section and a second light receiving section. In addition, the inclination detection apparatus includes a signal processing section for processing the detection signal. The signal processing section generates an inclination detection signal based on a difference between a first sum signal and a second sum signal, the first sum signal being based on a sum of a first light receiving section signal and a second light receiving section signal, the second sum signal being based on a sum of a third light receiving section signal and a fourth light receiving section signal. Moreover, the signal processing section generates a tracking error signal based on a difference between a fifth light receiving section signal and a sixth light receiving section signal.

The switch element outputs either one of the first signal and the second signal in accordance with a distance and e positional relationship between a light collection point of the light output from the collection light system and the track.

The second signal amplitude is an absolute value of a difference between the first and third signal levels. The first signal level is a value of the tracking error signal obtained when the beam emitted by the light source is radiated to a center of the track. The second and third signal levels are, respectively, a maximum value and a minimum value of the tracking error signal obtained when the information memory medium is scanned by the beam emitted by the light source in a direction perpendicular to the track.

    摘要: The light reading the information of an optomagnetic disk is focused by a detector lens 104, and is put into a polarizing hologram 121 and a polarizing hologram 122 composed of lithium niobate. These polarizing holograms have action to separate a polarized light component in the z-axis direction and a polarized light component orthogonal thereto into transmitted light and diffracted light. The polarizing and separating hologram 121 is installed so that its z-axis may have an inclination of 45 degrees to the principal direction of polarization of incident light, and the z-axis of the polarizing and separating hologram 122 is set in a direction orthogonal thereto. Therefore the individual polarizing holograms transform different polarized light components into different wave planes. Accordingly, in a photo detector 196, TE signal and TM signal are obtained in different polarized light components, so that the imbalance of the head amplifiers can be eliminated.

    摘要: An optical pickup head apparatus comprises a first coherent light source for emitting a coherent light serving as a main beam, and a second coherent light source for emitting a coherent light having a polarized plane at a right angle to the polarized plane of the coherent light emitted from the first coherent light source. When the coherent light emitted from the second coherent light source is incident upon a phase plate, the phase plate yields a sub-beam presenting a distribution of light intensity having peak values at at least both sides of the center of the sub-beam on a plane vertical with respect to the optical axis of the coherent light. Focusing means overlaps the main beam emitted from the first coherent light source on the sub-beam emitted from the phase plate, causing the resulting overlapped beam to be focused on the information-recorded surface of an optical disk. When a focused beam as reflected from the information-recorded surface of the optical disk is incident upon polarized beam separating means, the polarized beam separating means yields the transmitted beam as divided into the main beam and the sub-beam. Optical detecting means individually detects and supplies the light intensities of the main beam and the sub-beam emitted from the polarized beam separating means.
