摘要： An ink jet recording device includes a recording head for discharging ink to a recording medium, a recording head side coupling portion coupled with a reservoir chamber side coupling portion to receive supply of ink and providing ink to the recording head. The recording head side coupling portion includes a member with an ink passage and a valve device for opening/closing the ink passage. The valve device begins to open during coupling of the reservoir chamber side coupling portion and the recording head side coupling portion, and closes at complete detachment.

摘要： An ink supply device for an ink jet printer includes a tank for storing ink and transports the ink from the tank to a nozzle at normal pressure by utilizing capillary effect. The tank is provided with an opening which connects the interior of the tank with the outside air but a one-way valve is at the opening such that air can move into but not out of the tank therethrough. A separate device for introducing air into the tank to increase the pressure inside the tank is provided such that air particles accumulating in the passageway between the tank and the nozzle can be removed easily as ink is pushed out of the tank.
