摘要: A liquid discharge head is provided which allows production of a recorded image of improved quality by controlling the speed of flow of a liquid and the distribution of the speed of flow in a flow path caused in consequence of contraction of bubbles thereby stabilizing the direction of satellites arising behind main drops of discharged liquid and, at the same time, decreasing the amount itself of the satellites. This liquid discharge head comprises a movable separation membrane capable of effecting separation between a first flow path communicating with a discharge port for discharging a liquid and a second flow path furnished with a bubble generating region for generating bubbles in the liquid by means of a heating element and a movable member opposed to the bubble generating region across the movable separation membrane and furnished in the direction of liquid discharge with a free end to guide the displacement of the movable separation membrane induced by the growth of the bubbles in the direction of the discharge port and regulate the shape of displacement of the movable separation membrane as well.

摘要: A length of a melamine foamed block to be accommodated in an ink tank housing as measured in the longitudinal direction is dimensioned to be larger than a length of the ink tank housing as measured in the longitudinal direction. Thus, while the foamed block is accommodated in the ink tank housing, it is compressed in the direction orienting toward an ink feeding port from which ink is fed to a printing head, i.e., in the ink feeding direction. Consequently, the ink retaining force induced by the capillary force is not intensified in the compressing direction of the melamine foamed block, resulting in an ink feeding capability of the printing head being improved. On the contrary, the ink retaining force effective at a right angle relative to the compressing direction of the melamine foamed block is intensified.

摘要: A sealing method for an ink container having a front side, a rear side, a bottom side, an upper side and two lateral sides, and having an ink supply port for supplying ink to a recording head portion and an air vent for fluid communication between an inside of the ink container and ambience. A seal member is mounted on a first one of the sides and on a second one of the sides continuous with the first side, the seal member having a width larger than a width of the first and second sides. A portion of the seal member is inwardly folded beyond the width of the first side. A portion of the seal member is outwardly folded beyond the width of the second side. The inwardly folded portion of the seal member is heat-sealed to a side of a packaging bladder for accommodating the ink container.

摘要: A manufacturing method for an ink container mountable to an ink jet apparatus in which the ink container includes an ink supply port, an air vent which has an inside opening which opens to an inside of the ink container, a groove functioning as an outside opening and extended from the inside opening, and a wall except in a region functioning as an outside opening around the groove. According to the method, a seal member is positioned to a position corresponding to the ink supply port and the air vent, and the wall is thereafter collapsed through the seal member by a welding horn. By virtue of this method, a cover is thus provided in the wall above the groove to form a fluid communication path for fluid communication between the inside opening and the outside opening, with simultaneous welding of the seal member by heat.

摘要: A printing system having an ink tank for storing ink, the ink tank having a housing having an ink feeding port formed through a first surface for feeding ink therethrough, and a second surface opposite the first. An ink absorbing member is accommodated in the housing, is a porous member having a three-dimensional net-shaped structure molded of a composition comprising a condensate of (i) a compound having an amino group and (ii) formaldehyde, and has a first surface facing the ink feeding port. An alleviating member having more resilience than the ink absorbing member is disposed between the ink absorbing member and an ink outflow portion formed through the ink feeding port and alleviates pressure applied by the ink outflow portion against the ink absorbing member. Both the alleviating member and the ink absorbing member are deformed by compression against the ink outflow portion. A compensating member having more resilience than the ink absorbing member is disposed between the ink absorbing member and the ink outflow portion and applies a functional force to the ink absorbing member corresponding to deterioration of properties of the ink absorbing member. Another ink absorbing member having more resilience than the ink absorbing member is disposed between the ink absorbing member and the ink outflow portion.
