    摘要: A liquid (ink) supply system having a closed structure with respect to an inkjet recording head is configured such that a gas hindering a recording operation and a liquid supply operation can be rapidly and smoothly eliminated from a liquid supply system without involving any complication in structure. An ink tank (10) and a liquid chamber (50) for leading ink supplied to the recording head (20) are brought into fluid communication via two communication channels (53 and 54). Thus, in the state where the gas exists inside the liquid chamber, the ink is moved from the ink tank (10) via one communication channel (53), while the gas is transferred to the ink tank (10) via the other communication channel (54).

Thus, a filter (215) is used to partition an ink storing chamber into a first and second storing chambers (235, 230). Ink stored in the first storing chamber (235) is supplied to a common liquid chamber in an ejection element (150). Ink introduced into the second ink storing chamber (230) through a joint (240) is supplied to the first storing chamber (235) through the filter (215). An ink storing chamber member (211) is joined to an ink storing chamber cover member (212) to form the first and second ink storing chambers (235, 230) partitioned by the filter (215).

    摘要: In a liquid discharge detection method and apparatus which detect a liquid discharged from a liquid discharge head, an electrode is placed at a position where the liquid discharged from the liquid discharge head comes into contact with the electrode while being in contact with the head. When a liquid is discharged, and the head is connected to the electrode through the liquid, the circuit becomes a closed circuit. A voltage generated between the two ends of a resistor is obtained from a current flowing in the closed circuit. When this voltage becomes equal to or higher than a predetermined voltage, liquid discharge can be detected.

    摘要: In an ink storing container, movable members are properly constructed by molding sheet material into a convex form and are properly welded to a frame. The ink storing container is provided with an air passage section in which an ink meniscus is formed correspondingly to pressure relative to the atmosphere and through which the interior of an ink storing space is in communication with the atmosphere via an air path having a predetermined length. Thus, when negative pressure in the storing space increases, an air is introduced into the space via the air passage section. On the other hand, when the gas in the ink storing section expands to push the ink in the storing space, the ink can be kept in the path. As a result, the interior of the ink storing space is maintained at appropriate negative pressure for ink supply.
