Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide an information transmission method and apparatus, to report different capabilities of different terminal device forms. According to the method provided in this application, a terminal device can independently report a first capability and/or a second capability. The first capability is related to a maximum radio frequency processing bandwidth, and the second capability is related to a maximum baseband processing bandwidth. This implements decoupled reporting of the maximum radio frequency processing bandwidth and/or the maximum baseband bandwidth. According to the solutions in this application, flexible reporting manners can be provided for terminal devices in different forms or different types to report capabilities, thereby meeting different commercial application and cost requirements.
