    Abstract: Provided is an air conditioning apparatus. The air conditioning apparatus includes an outdoor unit which includes a compressor and an outdoor heat exchanger and through which a refrigerant is circulated, an indoor unit through which water is circulated, a heat exchanger in which the refrigerant and the water are heat-exchanged with each other, a water tube configured to guide the water circulated through the indoor unit and the heat exchanger, a pump installed in the water tube, and a controller configured to analyze an output signal of the pump so as to calculate a ration of an air layer in the water tube, the controller being configured to control a target supercooling degree or target superheating degree of the heat exchanger according to the calculated ratio of the air layer.

    Abstract: An air conditioner includes a bypass pipe connecting a first bypass branch of a first connection pipe, through which high-pressure refrigerant flows, with a second bypass branch of a third connection pipe, through which low-pressure refrigerant flows, to allow bypassing of high-pressure refrigerant in the first connection pipe to the third connection pipe, and a bypass valve mounted in the bypass pipe. During a cooling operation of an indoor unit, the bypass valve is opened to allow bypassing of high-pressure refrigerant of the first connection pipe to the third connection pipe.

    Abstract: An air conditioner and a control method for an air conditioner are provided. The air conditioner may include a compressor, a flow switch installed at an outlet side of the compressor, a first guide pipe extending from the flow switch to an outdoor heat exchanger, a second guide pipe extending from the flow switch to an indoor unit, a third guide pipe extending from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor unit, a bypass passage extending from the second guide pipe to the third guide pipe to allow at least a portion of the refrigerant in the second guide pipe to be bypassed to the third guide pipe or to allow at least a portion of the refrigerant in the third guide pipe to be bypassed to the second guide pipe, and a bypass valve installed on the bypass passage.

    Abstract: An air conditioner and a method of controlling the same are provided. The air conditioner includes an outside unit, which is provided with a compressor and an evaporator, an outside temperature sensor attached to the outside unit to sense outside temperature, an outside humidity recognition part attached to the outside unit to recognize information about outside humidity, a low pressure sensor that senses an evaporation pressure of the evaporator, and a control part that controls an operation of the compressor, based on both information about dew-point temperature sensed from the outside temperature sensor and the outside humidity recognition part and information about the evaporation pressure sensed from the low pressure sensor. The control part changes an operation frequency of the compressor according to whether the evaporation pressure is not lower than a preset reference low pressure, to prevent frosting of the evaporator.
