摘要: An estimated spread value is computed that represents a price at which a trader might have been able to buy or sell a spread given the current market conditions of the legs. In particular, when an event occurs in one of the legs, price information is gathered from each of the other legs based on the spread definition, in addition to the defined event, and is used in estimating the value of a spread. According to one feature, the computations may be triggered by any predefined event. According to another feature, the computation may be programmed by a user to tailor the estimation process according to the type of spread being traded. The estimated spread value may be used to analyze spreads, it may be fed to other trading related software tools, or it may be used in charting.

摘要: The present invention provides methods and systems for improving clinical trials of experimental therapies. The present invention uses minimally invasive, leadless implantable devices that facilitate long term monitoring of a physiological signal (e.g., neural signals) from a patient population which may provide an indication of the effect of the experimental therapy on the patient population. In preferred embodiments, neural signals are sampled from the patients in the patient population with an externally powered, leadless implanted device and are transmitted to an external device for further processing.

摘要: A system and method for demonstrating or testing operation of on-board diagnostics in a vehicle include imitating performance degradation of a vehicle hardware component and/or associated vehicle system by dynamically modifying at least one control system parameter value associated with the hardware component in response to a request to demonstrate operation of a selected diagnostic function or a specified performance degradation. Embodiments modify at least one control system parameter value associated with the input/output signal of a sensor/actuator to imitate a specified performance degradation. The diagnostics independently monitor operation of various vehicle control systems and operate to detect the degraded performance without knowledge of, or distinguishing between, whether the performance degradation was caused by an actual hardware component, or by the requested modification to the control system parameter value(s) associated with a particular hardware component.

摘要: System capacity control in a wireless communication system can be facilitated with respect to a mobile to mobile communication. Such facilitation can comprise adjusting (103) a quality of service for at least one leg of that mobile to mobile communication. More particularly, this facilitation can comprise obtaining information (101) regarding at least one of power requirements as correspond to each leg of the mobile to mobile communication, a number of mobile stations as comprise communication targets in the mobile to mobile communication and that do not share a same sector using a shared channel, and/or expected battery life for at least one mobile station as comprises the mobile to mobile communication. These teachings can then provide for relatively degrading quality of service on a leg of the mobile to mobile communication as corresponds to at least one of relatively low mobile station power requirements, a leg comprising a reverse speaker leg and corresponding target legs are relatively few in number, and/or a leg comprising a reverse speaker leg and the corresponding mobile station has a relatively low expected battery life.

摘要: A communication device and a method for managing a communication link 108 are provided. The method includes establishing 402 the communication link between an originator communication device 102 and a target communication device 104. The method also includes suspending 408 at least a portion of the communication link when the amount time required to render the data buffered outside of the originator communication device, which is for the target communication device and is not yet rendered at the target communication device, becomes greater than a first predefined threshold, and the originator communication device has released the floor of the communication link.

摘要: An apparatus and method for determining (410) a quality of channel factor for a base transceiver station (530) of an active set and determining (420) whether the base transceiver station (530) should be assigned to a prefill set at least in part according to a predetermined function of the factor. The predetermined function may include assigning (425) a base transceiver station (530) to the prefill set when the quality of channel factor reaches a predetermined threshold. The quality of channel factor may be determined in various ways including executing (416) an anticipative signal strength algorithm or by monitoring (412) the quality of channel between the mobile station (110) and the base transceiver station (530). Additionally, the primary base transceiver station (120) may be notified (430) of the prefill set such that synchronization signals may be sent (440) to the base transceiver stations of the prefill set.

摘要: A method and apparatus for altering a media activity are disclosed. The provision (101) of a dynamic media activity to a recipient user is enhanced by the dynamic acquisition (102) of information regarding an ambient condition of the user's environment and the use (104) of the information to dynamically alter the media activity in a manner that correlates with the information. An apparatus (200) embodying the method comprises a dynamic media activity engine (201) operably linked to a memory (202) having information regarding at least one ambient condition of the user and to a user interface (205). Information regarding ambient conditions may be obtained by an ambient condition detector (203) linked to the memory (202) or by means of a wireless interface (204).
