    Abstract: A method including receiving, from a network device, configuration information for random access, wherein the configuration information comprises parameters for determining a plurality of random access channel occasions and for mapping the plurality of random access channel occasions with one or more of a plurality of synchronization signal block indices; indexing the plurality of random access channel occasions; grouping the plurality of random access channel occasions into one or more random access channel occasion groups based on the indexing; and transmitting, to the network device, a plurality of physical random access channel transmissions using at least one of the one or more random access channel occasion groups.
