Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a base station receives one or more signals indicative of a downlink compensation capability (e.g., an in-band capability to compensate for non-linear distortion, or an out-of-band capability to compensate for other FDM'd signal(s) to other UE(s), etc.) of at least one UE. Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station (BS) may determine a first planned transmit beam configuration of the first BS. The BS may obtain a second planned transmit beam configuration of a second BS. The BS may determine that a first planned transmit beam of the first planned transmit beam configuration will interfere with a second planned transmit beam of the second planned transmit beam configuration. The BS may modify the first planned transmit beam, the second planned transmit beam, or both, based on the interference determination.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or base station) may reduce a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) by clipping signals transmitted to a receiving device according to a clipping level. The receiving device may receive, from the transmitting device, an indication of the clipping level associated with a reference signal. The receiving device may receive the reference signal and identify distortions based on the clipping level. The receiving device may iteratively reconstruct peaks of the clipped reference signal until the receiving device is able to obtain accurate pilot symbols for use in channel estimation. The techniques described herein may enable receiving devices to improve efficiency and reliability of communications by improving channel estimation, which may increase the probability of successfully decoding transmitted information.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. A communication device may support processing digital post distortion using additional references symbols. For example, the communication device may precode a signal including at least two reference symbols for a single-layer transmission using at least two antenna ports. At least one reference symbol of the at least two reference symbols is associated with at least one data symbol of a data stream. The communication device may estimate, based on the at least two reference symbols, a nonlinearity model of at least two power amplifiers associated with the single-layer transmission, and determine an estimate of a nonlinearity factor of the precoded signal based on the estimated nonlinearity model. As a result, the communication device may eliminate or reduce the nonlinear factor of the precoded signal based on the estimated nonlinearity model of the at least two power amplifiers and the estimated channel impulse response.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some systems may support digital post-distortion (DPoD) processing at a base station. In some such systems, a user equipment (UE) may process a data message for transmission, where a resulting signal associated with the data message includes non-linear characteristics that are handled by DPoD on the receiver-side. The non-linear characteristics may cause the signal to leak into out-of-band (OOB) resources, potentially resulting in interference. In some examples, the UE may transmit the data message to the base station in a multi-user system. To support mitigation of non-linear interference on signaling by other UEs, the UE may additionally transmit pilot signals in OOB resources (e.g., in addition to in-band resources) where the non-linearity may be expected to negatively affect other communications. The base station may use the OOB pilot signals to perform channel estimation and interference mitigation.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a UE to apply a modified interference cleaning data to account for differences in interference between at least one pilot resource and at least one data resource, thereby improving data decoding performance of the UE. The UE receives at least one pilot resource and at least one data resources from a base station and identifies interference cleaning data based on the pilot resource. The UE then determines whether a first interference affecting the pilot resource is the same as a second interference affecting the data resource. When the first interference is the same as the second interference, the UE applies the interference cleaning data to the data resource. Otherwise, when the first interference is different than the second interference, the apparatus applies a modified interference cleaning data to the data resource.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may determine a set of power adjustment values for a set of symbols to be used to transmit a data signal in a slot. In some cases, each power adjustment value corresponds to a power adjustment to be applied when transmitting a respective symbol in the slot. The transmitting device may transmit a control signal to a receiving device indicating the set of power adjustment values. The transmitting device may transmit the data signal on the set of symbols in the slot, applying the indicated set of power adjustment values to the set of symbols. The receiving device may decode the data signal based on the indicated set of power adjustments.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An interfering base station may transmit to a neighboring base station a configuration to measure beam resources for a plurality of PAPR reduction beams. The neighboring base station may forward this measurement configuration to an associated UE. The UE may then take measurements of the interfering base station's PAPR reduction beams in accordance with the configuration and transmit the report to its serving base station. The neighboring base station may then compile a headroom report and transmit the headroom report to the interfering base station. The interfering base station may then adjust its PAPR reduction beams based on the headroom report.
