摘要: A molded limit gauge for measuring workpiece thicknesses. The limit gauge includes a body having one or more elongate ridges extending longitudinally therealong. Each ridge has a plurality of notches extending laterally through its upper portion. Each notch has a unique longitudinal dimension that is uniform. In a first preferred embodiment of the invention, the bottom surface of each notch and the land between each notch is horizontally flat. In a second preferred embodiment, each of these surfaces has a configuration of a laterally convex curve. The limit gauge body is configured such that it can be mounted atop a planing machine. So mounted, it can function as a structural top of the planing machine. Measurement of a board thickness is accomplished by attempting to slide the board through notches that appear to match its thickness. A range of board thickness is defined between the indicated sizes of two adjacent notches that respectively allow and do not allow passage of the board through. When a number of different workpieces, such as boards, are to be planed, they can readily be measured and sorted into similarly sized groups before being planed so that a minimum number of planing machine adjustments need be made. A third embodiment includes jaws that extend into the notches. The jaws are resiliently biased against workpieces inserted into notches. Their positions are indicated on a dial indicator to facilitate determining workpiece dimensions that differ somewhat from those of the notches.

摘要: A support base for distributing a concentrated load over a contact surface is disclosed. The support base includes a body formed of moldable polymeric material having a top surface and a generally planar bottom surface. At least one recess is integrally formed in the top surface for receiving a support member. The support member transfers the concentrated load to the planar body. Furthermore, at least one through bore is provided in the support base, and the through bore extends from the top surface to the bottom surface of the support base for receiving a fastener. The through bore has a shaft portion and a relatively oversized cavity portion adjacent to the bottom surface for receiving fasteners such as nuts for securing bolts, as well as, bolt heads of different sizes and configurations. The support base has many advantages over the prior are for example, the base may be attached to different interface bracketry without be modified.

摘要: A clinching station for securing a first workpiece to a second workpiece includes control logic receiving a punch position sensor output and processing the punch position sensor output and an established position signature to generate a clinching operation status signal. The clinching station includes a punch and die assembly including a punch and a die mounted opposite each other for movement relative to each other along a working axis. A position sensor is configured to monitor the position of the punch relative to the die, and has an output indicative of the position of the punch relative to the die. The established position signature corresponds to an acceptable clinching operation, and allows the control logic to generate the clinching operation status signal.

摘要: The present invention provides a skylight frame design that is adapted to receive at least two panels of glass. The skylight frame comprises a stepped frame section that includes a lower step surface and an upper step surface. The lower step surface is adapted to receive a first glass panel so that a section of the first glass panel lies flush against the lower step surface. Similarly, the upper step surface is adapted to receive a second glass panel so that the second glass panel lies flush against the upper step surface. The skylight frame design of the invention is either incorporated into a skylight frame that may be attached to a curb unit on a roof or it may be an integral part of a skylight frame-curb assembly that also contains a curb section.

摘要: The present invention provides a skylight frame design that is adapted to receive at least two panels of glass. 摘要: A fenestration product such as a skylight or a window assembly is provided having a frame with a peripheral wall with a light transmitting central region and a plastic dome formed of a light transmitting material mounted to the frame. The plastic dome has a central region which transmits light, a downwardly extending peripheral wall extending about and mounted to the peripheral frame, and an outwardly extending flashing flange for mounting the assembly to a building structure. Various embodiments of the part illustrated include a skylight assembly having a frame formed of a plastic layer formed into an inverted ‘U’ shape cross-section forming an annular channel filled with insulating foam. A sealed, vertically mounted window unit is also disclosed. Other embodiments have an insulating layer of transparent plastic material spaced from the dome forming an enclosed, gas filled insulating region. Methods of forming and installing a fenestration assembly are also described.
