A method and system for providing information that enables easier and quicker access to an item related to a context of a device, and a computer-readable recording medium thereof are provided. The method includes detecting a context of a device, and displaying at least one virtual space corresponding to the detected context on a screen of the device. The virtual space is a Graphic User Interface (GUI) that is configured to register the detected context and information related to at least one item.

A device for managing applications installed on the device and a method thereof are provided. The device includes a controller configured to obtain driving information of the applications in response to the applications being executed, and determine an application satisfying an uninstall condition, among the applications, based on the driving information. The device further includes an interface configured to change a display of an object indicating the determined application, based on the uninstall condition.

A technique for controlling an electronic device thereof is provided. The technique includes, in response to an attachment device being selected by an external device from a list of attachment devices, receiving and storing mapping information in which data configured in a first communication format and data configured in a second communication format in relation to one function of the electronic device to which the attachment device is attached are mapped. In addition, in response to the data configured in the first communication format being received from an external device which is communicably connected with the attachment device, the data configured in the second communication format corresponding to the data configured in the first communication format based on the mapping information is acquired, and the data configured in the second communication format to the electronic device to control the one function of the electronic device to be performed is transmitted.

The foldable device includes: a flexible display which includes a main display area and an edge display area; and a controller which is configured to determine, based on an angle at which the foldable device is unfolded, a range of a partial activation area of the main display area, wherein the range of the partial activation area is partially bounded by a boundary between the edge display area and the main display area.

The portable apparatus includes a communicator, a storage configured to store a connection unlock pattern and an external apparatus connection information, a touchscreen configured to display a lock screen; and a controller configured to control communicator, the storage, and the touchscreen. The controller is configured to unlock the lock screen by detecting the connection unlock pattern that is input to the lock screen, and connects the portable apparatus to the external apparatus via the communicator by using the connection unlock pattern and the external apparatus connection information.
