摘要: A projection system is provided having an aerosol generator for producing aerosol in a defined space. At least two light beam generators are arranged to direct light beams from at least two different positions onto the aerosol. Projection controls are adapted to convert three-dimensional image data into projection signals which are supplied to the light beam generators to project the three-dimensional image to become visible in the aerosol space.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide for operating a handheld computer with multiple time-out periods in a manner that is more efficient and effective for conserving power than previous systems. In an embodiment, the handheld computer implements one or more additional time-out periods by identifying an occurrence of an event that requires the handheld computer to be in the high power state to perform a specific function. An event may include a function such as sounding an alarm, although other events are also encompassed by embodiments of this invention. When an event is identified, the power state of the handheld computer prior to identifying the event is recalled. The handheld computer then implements a time-out period based on its previous power state. In one embodiment, if the handheld computer was in a low-power state prior to the event occurring, the time-out period is shortened.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are described for providing a time-based warning indicating that the energy capacity of a primary energy source of a battery-powered computer has discharged to a low level, and using residual energy of the primary energy source to perform at least one pre-cutoff function. The time-based warning ensures that the warning is provided in a timely manner by overcoming problems caused by analog to digital converter voltage measurement accuracy limitations and flat battery operating voltage versus discharge curves. The primary energy source can be a rechargeable battery, which can also be the sole energy source for the computer. The battery provides power to operate the computer until the battery voltage discharges to the cutoff voltage. The methods and apparatus provide advantages because they reserve the residual energy in the battery to perform at least one pre-cutoff function within a first duration before the battery discharges to the cutoff voltage. For example, the residual energy can be used to retain data stored in the computer between opportunities to charge the battery. Some embodiments of the invention include hardware resources coupled with the processor to lock out power and application activation when the rechargeable battery has discharged to a predetermined hardware lockout voltage. The value of the hardware lockout voltage can be based on the battery retaining a residual energy sufficient for performing the corresponding pre-cutoff function within an amount of time that is expected to enable the user to perform the function.

摘要: A system is disclosed. The system comprises one or more print controllers to generate print interrupt instructions in response to receiving a web splice signal indicating that a web splice on a web print medium has been detected, wherein the print interrupt instructions indicate a first side sheet image and a second side sheet image within a print job to pause prior to stopping printing, wherein the print interrupt instructions comprise gap instructions to open a first printhead gap at the first print engine and to open a second printhead gap at the second print engine, control printing of the first side sheet image on a first side of a web at a first print engine based on the print interrupt instructions, control printing of the second side sheet image to a second side of the web at a second print engine based on the print interrupt instructions, wherein the print interrupt instructions are generated based on a determination of an interrupted first side sheet image to be paused prior to opening the first printhead gap and a determination of an interrupted second side sheet image to be paused prior to opening the second printhead gap.

摘要: Systems and methods for adjustable interlacing of drying rollers in a print system. One system is an apparatus that includes first rollers that conduct heat from a heat source, and dry a web of print media as the web travels over a front side of the first rollers in a first direction. A last roller of the first rollers turns the web in a second direction. The apparatus also includes second rollers disposed a distance above the first rollers and that transport the web in the second direction. The apparatus further includes a movement mechanism that reduces the distance between the second rollers and the first rollers to cause the second rollers to occupy spaces between the first rollers so that the web traveling in the second direction contacts a back side of the first rollers to further dry the web.
