摘要： A stripper for separating a print substrate from a fuser member in an electrostatographic printing machine has a substantially flat, thin, resiliently flexible finger-like member having a raised dimple-like bump adjacent one end of the finger-like member for contacting the print substrate when stripped from the fuser member, the finger-like member being coated on both sides with a smooth low surface energy film.

摘要： Heat and pressure fusing apparatus having a thin-walled tubular fuser roll cooperating with a rigid pressure roll to pass copy substrates therebetween with the toner images on the substrates contacting the fuser roll. The rolls are supported in pressure engagement such that the axes are skewed relative to each other to compensate for roll deflection aggravated by hoop deflection of the thin-walled fuser roll. Thermal degradation of the elastomeric conformable coating is reduced by standing by at a low temperature and quickly warming up to run temperature.

摘要： A self-positioning belt roll fuser stripping apparatus and system includes an internal pressure roll entraining a fuser belt. The internal pressure engages an external pressure roll to form a fusing nip. The internal pressure roll includes an internal pressure roll bearing to which a mounting plate is attached, allowing the mounting plate to move about a rotational axis of the internal pressure roll. A strip bar is attached to the mounting plate, and configured to force the fuser belt toward the external pressure roll. A mounting plate ski is configured to contact an external pressure roll bearing to limit movement of the mounting plate, positioning the strip shoe as desired when the mounting plate is moved to guide the strip show toward the fusing nip.

摘要： The present embodiments are generally directed to a belt for use in an electrostatographic apparatus that is made by applying the substrate and various layers onto the inside of a mandrel, rather than on the outside of the mandrel. The method of the present embodiments allows formation of the belt from the outer layer in to the inner layers, which provides a more effective method of making the belt as well as a belt with enhanced properties. The tensile member of the belts comprises fibrous materials and is formed in place with the rest of the layers.

摘要： A plurality of stripper fingers in a fuser assembly are provided to assist in preventing damage to the fuser roll caused by prior art fingers. In the present invention, skiis are positioned away back from the tip of the stripper finger. These skiis extend beyond the lower surface of the stripper finger and are enabled to lift the tip away from the fuser surface during a paper jam or hard stripping situation.

摘要： In an apparatus, such as a fuser for xerographic printing, wherein sheets pass through a nip formed by two moving rollers, a substantially enclosed, effectively funnel-shaped path is defined to direct sheets from the nip to a subsequent processing station. When a jam condition occurs in the path, a movable surface defining the path moves to increase a size of the path. The increase in size prevents impaction of subsequent sheets entering the path, and also facilitates manual jam clearance.

摘要： A heating device, which can be used in the fixing unit of an image forming apparatus, such as an electrophotographic copying or printing machine, for fixing a toner image on a final substrate. The heating device which is in the form of a heated fuser roller is provided with bands or coatings of material which impede the transfer of heat from the fuser roller to bearing structure associated therewith. The bands or coatings are applied by plasma spraying a ceramic material on either the surface of a fuser roll core or on journals of end caps, depending upon the specific construction of the fuser roller.
