摘要: An elongated, thinner apparatus is provided so as to measure surface contamination in narrow places and piping. An elongated plate-shaped radioactivity detection section 10 provided with a scintillator and a radioactivity measuring section 12 provided with a photomultiplier are provided as independent components and connected together using a wavelength conversion optical fiber cable 14. A measurement signal (optical signal) of α-rays detected by the radioactivity detection section is transmitted to the radioactivity measuring section via the optical fiber cable. The radioactivity detection section is provided with elongated light guides, sets of wavelength conversion optical fibers, each set consisting of two optical fibers, arranged along the light guides in close contact therewith, a scintillator layer and a light-shielding film, and these components are surrounded by a light-shielding frame so that only a detection surface of the light-shielding film is exposed and the optical fibers extend from the radioactivity detection section as the optical fiber cable provided with a light-shielding outer covering.

摘要: According to the invention, a power supply for an image sensing device is obtained from a printer to prevent consumption of the battery. When the image sensing device is connected to the printer, a power management unit checks if electric power can be supplied from the printer. When electric power can be supplied from the printer, the power management unit switches the power supply from the battery to a power supply receiving/supplying unit that receives electric power from the printer. In this case, if the remaining capacity on the battery is small, the battery is charged by electric power from the printer. Also, the luminance of a display unit is increased, or the operation frequency of a control unit is raised. On the other hand, when electric power cannot be supplied from the printer, the power management unit switches the power supply to the battery. In this case, the power management unit reduces consumption power by decreasing the luminance of the display unit or reducing the operation frequency of the control unit.

摘要: An ink jet printer includes a distance adjust mechanism for adjusting in two steps a distance between a liquid nozzle-formed face of a print unit and the recording surface, and a unit having first and second cleaning members with different free end positions, lengths and/or thicknesses are arranged movable relative to the face and adapted to wipe a substance adhering to the face off of the face with a predetermined engagement condition. The substance is wiped off of the face by the first and second cleaning members having different engagement conditions when the face is a first distance from a recording surface, and is wiped off with the engagement condition of a wipe portion of the first cleaning member virtually equal to the engagement condition of a wipe portion of the second cleaning member associated with the first distance when the face is a second distance from the medium. Further, a height difference between the cleaning members is set almost equal to the distance the face is moved by the distance adjust mechanism.

摘要: A command identifying circuit separates entered image information into a bitmap command representing a line image and an image command representing a half-tone image. A data separating circuit separates layout information, bitmap data and paint-tone data from the separated bitmap command and, in accordance with the layout information, stores the bitmap data in a bitmap memory and the paint-tone data in a block-tone memory. Another data separating circuit separates layout information and image data from the separated image command, and a character/line-image extracting circuit extracts pixels, which constitute a character or line image, contained in the image data separated by the data separating circuit, and stores positional information and tone data regarding the extracted pixels in the bitmap memory and block-tone memory. However, pixels constituting a character or line image are not extracted in an image area within which a line-image area and a half-tone image area overlap each other. An extracted-pixel substitution circuit substitutes prescribed data for a portion of the image data in which a character or line image has been extracted, and a coding circuit codes the image data that has undergone substitution and stores the coded data in an image memory.

摘要: An image processing apparatus has a memory device for storing pixel image data including both halftone image data such as data of image of a photograph having a gradation and line image data such as data of text containing characters. The storage is conducted on the basis of blocks each having a predetermined number of pixels. The mean information quantity of the halftone image data per pixel stored in the memory means is not greater than the information quantity of the line image data per pixel stored in the memory means. The halftone image data being compressed on the basis of the block. Therefore, both the halftone image data and line image data can be stored in a small memory by using common addresses, without causing any degradation of the image quality.

摘要: An image information transmission system that transmits image information, one frame of which is constituted by a plurality of image data. The plurality of pixel data corresponding to the one-frame image information is divided into a plurality of pixel blocks using a predetermined number of pixel data as a unit pixel block. Maximum and minimum values of pixel data within each pixel block are detected in units of divided pixel blocks. Maximum value data representing the detected maximum value and minimum value data representing a detected minimum value are output. One of the different quantization characteristics is selected in accordance with a difference between the maximum and minimum values of each pixel blocks output as described above. A level region between the maximum and minimum values is quantized to obtain a plurality of regions on the basis of the selected quantization characteristic. Position data representing one of the plurality of regions to which the pixel data within the pixel block belongs is output. The maximum and minimum value data output in units of pixel blocks and the position data output in correspondence with the pixel data within each pixel block are transmitted as described above, and therefore, a high-quality image information signal can be transmitted regardless of the characteristics of images.

摘要: An information processing apparatus includes a plurality of modules connected in a ring shape via a bus, and each module processes a packet flowing in a single direction on the ring in a predetermined order. The module includes a communication unit for transmitting a packet received from a first direction in the ring via the bus to a second direction, a discrimination unit for discriminating a packet from among the packets received from the first direction as a processing packet to be processed by the module, and a processing unit which is connected with the communication unit one by one and configured to process the processing packet. The communication unit transmits the packet processed by the processing unit at an interval equivalent to processing time or more for a processing packet processed by a module in a latter stage in the predetermined order among packets transmitted by the communication unit to the second direction.
