Abstract: Imaging devices, systems, and methods for identifying an operation mode of an imaging device and processing imaging data based on the operation mode are described herein. An example device includes: a first imager operable to receive light from a first field of view (FOV) and configured to capture a first imager stream, a second imager operable to receive light from a second FOV and configured to capture a second imager stream, and a vision application processor that: processes at least a portion of the first imager stream and at least a portion of the second imager stream based on at least one of a commencement of a read session, a trigger event, or a decode event; and processes the second imager stream without regard to any of the read session, the trigger event, or the decode event, and process the first imager stream based on the second imager stream.

Abstract: An example bioptic barcode reader includes an imaging assembly, first illumination assembly, and second illumination assembly. No more than 10% of a light source of the second illumination assembly is visible within a boundary of a first imaging FOV of the imaging assembly. No more than 10% of a first mirror is visible within a boundary of a second imaging FOV of the imaging assembly. An upper edge of an aperture in an upper housing portion is outside a boundary of a first illumination FOV of the first illumination assembly. All or substantially all light rays from the second illumination assembly that pass through a horizontal window in a lower housing portion form respective angles relative to horizontal that are equal to or less than a second angle formed between a normal line of the first mirror and horizontal.

Abstract: An imaging system with a shared illumination source is disclosed herein. An example imaging system includes an illumination source configured to emit an illumination pulse that provides illumination during a predetermined period, a first imaging apparatus, a second imaging apparatus, and a processor. The first imaging apparatus comprises: a first imaging sensor configured to capture first image data, and a first imaging control circuitry configured to expose the first imaging sensor. The second imaging apparatus comprises: a second imaging sensor configured to capture second image data, and a second imaging control circuitry configured to expose the second imaging sensor. The processor is configured to: receive the first image data and the second image data, perform an indicia decoding analysis on the second image data, and perform an image analysis on the first image data that does not include the indicia decoding analysis.

Abstract: A bioptic barcode reader is disclosed for selective use of illumination color to capture appropriate data. The bioptic barcode reader includes a housing and a primary imager positioned within the housing, configured to scan a target object during a first time period. The bioptic barcode reader further includes a primary illumination source positioned within the housing configured to emit primary illumination in a primary wavelength range during the first time period. The bioptic barcode reader further includes a secondary imager configured to capture one or more images of a target object during a second time period. The bioptic barcode reader further includes a secondary illumination source configured to emit secondary illumination in a secondary wavelength range during the second time period, wherein the second time period and first time period are interleaved and the secondary wavelength range is different from the primary wavelength range.
