    摘要: A cable shield to connector back shell termination device includes a back shell of a multi-pin cable connector, a plurality of metallic tubes adapted to receive individually the end of a shielded cable such that substantially full circumferential conductive contact is maintained between each cable shield and a tube, and a cluster of such tubes conductively bonded together and shaped to fit the back shell for conductive bonding to the back shell. A second embodiment employs a conductive sleeve for conductive mounting on the cable shield. Ridges or fins extending generally lengthwise on the sleeve frictionally, conductively contact the metal tubes. In this manner an uninterrupted conductive surface is maintained at the connector. The connector enclosure thus provides a shield against the intrusion of electromagnetic energy in the environment in which the electrical or electronic wiring and circuits must operate.

    摘要: A missile launching system adapted for installation in a standard commercial aircraft without modification of the aircraft structure. The system comprises a plurality of frame members, linear tracks which are movable longitudinally relative to the frame members, a plurality of launch tubes for storing the missiles, an exit port for installation in an pre-established aircraft fuselage opening, and associated equipment for selectively launching the missiles from the launch tubes through the exit port. The entire system is assembled from individual components, all of which are sized to be placed on board the aircraft through a standard passenger door opening. In preparation for installing the system in a commercial aircraft, the passenger seats and related equipment conventionally installed in the interior of such an aircraft are removed. The frame members of the system are then mounted to the standard seat tracks in the floor of the aircraft. The remaining portions of the system are thereafter assembled and installed on the frame. The frame is inclined to support the launch tubes at an angle extending upward and forward so that when a missile is ejected from the launch tube, it is given a trajectory which carries it clear of the aircraft wing and empennage.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for preventing a missile's rocket exhaust gases from contacting and adversely affecting, such as by overheating, the launch rails from which a missile may be launched. Such apparatus includes orifices and pressure/flow controls in association with the rails in order to produce a cold gaseous stream directed in opposition to the exhaust gases during at least the initial phase. The stream creates a boundary plane or barrier between the rails and the exhaust gases, thereby shielding the rails from damage due to overheating.Arrangements are provided to control the time and duration of the stream so that it may be limited to the period of actual need.

In a second order configuration with noise adaptive varying gain parameters calculated as a function of time-to-go, this system implements an optimal control law to augment proportional navigation with a missile acceleration feedback term and a navigation ratio to account for first order autopilot time lag. This configuration results in nearly optimal miss distance behavior, with sensitivity to unmodeled errors being substantially less than that in modern guidance systems. The system is particularly useful for high altitude, minimally maneuvering targets.

    摘要: A projectile body has a gyro mounted therein including a rotor and a mechanism for supporting the rotor for rotation about a spin axis initially coincident with the longitudinal axis of the projectile body and pivotable away from the longitudinal axis of the projectile body. The rotor is initially locked to the projectile body so that it is spun with the projectile body during launch. Thereafter, the rotor is unlocked and the projectile body is de-spun to a relatively slow rate of rotation while transferring angular momentum to the free spinning rotor which continues to rotate at a high rate relative to the projectile body. Rotationally phased steering commands, which are generated from on-board homing sensor signals or up-link data signals received from a remote error sensor, are applied to a linear actuator within the projectile body. The actuator pivots the spin axis of the rotor away from the longitudinal axis of the projectile body. The resulting precession torque of the spinning rotor induces a change in the angle of attack between the projectile body axis and the actual velocity vector of the projectile thereby inducing midcourse trajectory shaping.

    摘要: An audible test device which provides a tone when a resistance being measured is less than a selected value, the selected value being variable to a few milli-ohms. A first or second source of voltage is applied to a constant current source. The constant current generated is divided between two paths, one path including test leads holding the resistance being measured therebetween, the other path through a voltage adjusting device. The output from the voltage adjusting device is applied to one input of a voltage comparator, the voltage appearing across the resistance under test being applied to the other input of the voltage comparator. The output of the comparator is applied to a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), the output of the VCO being applied to a piezoelectric device and to a speaker operable only when the second voltage source is utilized, thereby generating an audible tone. To set the threshold below which the audible tone will be generated, test leads are placed across a known resistance value equal to the threshold desired and the voltage adjusting device is adjusted until a tone is heard. This occurs only when the output of the voltage adjusting device exceeds the voltage across the resistance under test, the output of the comparator causing the VCO to generate an output. Thereafter, when the test leads are placed across a circuit path or resistance under test having a resistance value below the set desired value, a tone will be emitted.
