Abstract: The present invention provides a helmet comprising a main body having a concave interior for receiving a user's head, a head strap coupled to the body, and an adjustment mechanism coupled to the head strap. The head strap is positioned in a loop that spans at least 1.5 wraps around the interior of the main body. Preferably, the head strap is fully recessed into the concave interior of the main body. The head strap can include an occipital pad and a flexible belt (e.g., two flexible belts) secured to the occipital pad and engaged with the adjustment mechanism. Preferably, at least a portion of the flexible belt is spaced rearward from the occipital pad. The helmet can further include a belt guide (e.g., two side belt guides and a front belt guide) secured to the main body and adapted to allow the head strap to slide through the belt guide.

Abstract: A damper for a bicycle having a primary unit and a remote unit that, in some arrangements, is substantially entirely outside of the primary unit. The remote unit comprises a remote fluid chamber and, in some arrangements, an inertia valve within the remote unit. The inertia valve is preferably responsive to terrain-induced forces and preferably not responsive to rider-induced forces when the shock absorber is assembled to the bicycle. The inertia valve, which is configured to slidably move within the remote reservoir unit relative to a reservoir shaft, comprises a main portion and at least one protective coating or layer configured to contact the reservoir shaft. The protective coating or layer helps shield said main portion from contact with reservoir shaft, advantageously providing wear resistance, anti-friction properties, durability and other benefits to the damping system.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bicycle having front and rear wheels, a frame supported by the wheels, and a brake system. The brake system includes a caliper arm pivotally coupled to the frame at a pivot point, a pad secured to the caliper arm at a location spaced from the pivot point by a first distance, and an actuator (e.g., a hydraulic piston) positioned to apply a force to the caliper arm at a location that is spaced from the pivot point by a second distance less than the first distance. Preferably, the actuating location is positioned between the pivot axis and the pad.
