Abstract: A brake pad assembly for a bicycle includes a first brake pad, a second brake pad, and a spreader spring. The first brake pad has a first backing plate with a first rotor facing surface, and a first friction pad secured to the rotor facing surface. The second brake pad has a second backing plate with a second rotor facing surface, and a second friction pad secured to the second rotor facing surface and facing the first friction pad. The spreader spring has a first leaf that is fixed to the first brake pad and a second leaf that is fixed to the second brake pad. At least a portion of the first leaf is positioned between the first rotor facing surface and the first friction pad, and at least a portion of the second leaf is positioned between the second rotor facing surface and the second friction pad.

Abstract: A hydraulic braking device includes an engaging base, a hydraulic brake, and a locking device. The hydraulic brake is provided on the engaging base. The locking device is adapted to fix the engaging base on a suspension fork of a bicycle, and includes a bolt and a handle, wherein the bolt passes through the engaging base to be screwed into a tapped hole of the suspension fork. The handle has a cam-shaped head pivotally connected to the bolt, and is pivotable between a first position and a second position. When the handle is located at the first position, the head presses against the engaging base to fix the engaging base on the suspension fork. When the handle is located at the second position, the engaging base is no longer being pressed against by the head, whereby the engaging base is movable relative to the suspension fork.

Abstract: A process for manufacturing a bicycle wheel component, comprising the steps of providing a component having at least one braking area that cooperates with a braking body made by molding of composite material having structural fibers in a polymeric material, and post-molding machining of at least one region of the braking area by removing only polymeric material, without removal of the structural fiber, from the entire region so that the structural fiber outcrops at least in part from the polymeric material, and removing the structural fiber and possibly the polymeric material according to at least one groove within the region. Abstract: A brake safety apparatus that prevents an over the handlebar accident caused by applying too much brake force to the front brake of a bicycle is presented. The present invention works by effectively extending the length of the brake cable connected between the brake lever and the brake caliper on the front brake of a bicycle. An embodiment of brake release system comprises a brake cable housing coupled to a piston at a distal end of the lumen of a housing. The piston resides within the lumen of the housing. Between the piston and the proximal end of the housing is a compression spring with a desired spring rate and a preload breakout force.
