It transplants well from containers.

摘要: Novel time and temperature integrator (TTI) assays, kits containing the components of the assays, and the novel components for those assays are provided herein. These novel TTI assays evaluate and/or determine the inactivation of biological material in/on a sample by quantifying the degradation of DNA using qPCR. The sample can be a food product (e.g., fruits, vegetables, meat from animals, or eggs) while the item can be any object (e.g., medical equipment, especially reusable medical equipment) for which one needs to determine that the amount of inactivation of specific hazardous biological material on the object or in a sample is at or below a pre-determined amount.

摘要: Systems and methods for sampling within a conveyance system are provided herein, such systems and methods being particularly useful in batch sampling of food products for a targeted biological agent. In one aspect, the sampling system includes a conveyance system and one or more sampling devices positioned along a conveyance path such that at least one portion of the batch contacts a sampling medium of the one or more sampling devices. In another aspect, sampling devices are provided that allow a sampling member to be secured in a sampling position for batch testing and readily removed after sampling and tested. The systems, devices and methods herein provide improved sampling coverage of the entire batch and reduce waste and inefficiency as compared to conventional batch sampling methods.

摘要: Tunicamycin related compounds having an acyl chain double bond reduced and/or having an acyl chain double bond and an uracil ring double bond reduced are described as well as methods of making these tunicamycin related compounds. These tunicamycin related compounds are not toxic to eukaryotic cells and can be used to kill Gram-positive bacteria, alone or in combination with other antibiotics. Use of these tunicamycin related compounds to kill Gram-positive bacteria, treat Gram-positive bacterial diseases, and disinfect objects or surfaces are described. In addition, naturally-occurring streptovirudin compounds are not toxic to eukaryotic cells and can be used to kill Gram-positive bacteria, alone or in combination with other antibiotics.

摘要: A new and distinct variety of peach tree, denominated ‘Rich Joy’, has firm, freestone, melting, yellow flesh fruit with normal acidity, rich flavor, good eating quality, and long shelf life on trees and after harvesting. The fruit typically ripen about one week after ‘Julyprince’ in mid-July in Byron, Ga., have a high percentage of red blush with an attractive yellow ground color on skin surface, and usually are almost round with a slightly prominent suture. The tree is moderately vigorous and semi-spreading in growth habit, has self-fertile showy pink flowers, and regularly bears heavy annual crops. This variety has a winter chilling requirement estimated at approximately 850 chill hours and is suited for high chill areas.

No. 17,762) and the thornless, male parent blackberry plant ‘ORUS 2867-4’ (unpatented)). This new blackberry cultivar can be distinguished by being fairly early ripening for a semi-erect blackberry, by its large sized, very firm berries with tough skin and a crisp texture when eaten and excellent flavor, by its high yields borne on a vigorous plant with a semi-erect type growth habit and by its completely thornless canes.
