    摘要: Spa systems may be used all year round and in colder weather provide an enjoyable experience for users through the cold ambient outdoor temperature and the heated water of the spa. However, failures in respect of the water circulating pump and/or heater of the spa system either mechanically, electrically or through overall power outages mean the water in the spa system and its pipework can easily freeze if ambient conditions are cold enough leading to cracks in the spa system or pipes and hence leaks when the water thaws requiring costly repair or replacement of components or entire systems. Accordingly, a freeze protection system is provided that uses a backup thermal management system discretely or in combination with other backup systems. These freeze protection systems offering backup when mechanical failures, electrical failures etc. arise by providing thermal input to the spa system through alternate thermal paths and providing alarms.

    摘要: A spa assembly includes a base pan; a frame assembly; and a spa shell supported on the base pan and the frame assembly. The spa shell includes a bottom and at least one side defining an open internal volume, an interior surface oriented toward the open internal volume, an opposing exterior surface, and a rim surrounding the at least one side, the rim defining an internal cavity. The exterior surface of the bottom of the spa shell has a foam material applied thereon. The foam material applied to the bottom of the spa shell and the base pan comprise corresponding interlocking features that align the spa shell within the base pan. The internal cavity of the rim has the foam material applied thereto. The foam material in the rim has a groove formed therein, the groove being configured to receive the frame assembly.

    摘要: A spa is provided that includes: a basin; a motor having a shaft defining a rotation axis; a hub mounted to the shaft, the hub having North and South pole domains spaced apart from each other and arranged to encircle the rotation axis in alternating relation; and an impeller which is disposed in the basin in axially spaced relation to the hub and is at least substantially constrained against movement but for rotation about the axis, the impeller including a rotor body of a non-magnetic, electrically-conductive material having relatively low magnetic permeability. The improvement in which is that there are lights and coils coupled to the impeller for rotation therewith, the lights and coils being coupled and adapted such that, in use, the rotating magnetic fields associated with the drive hub created induced currents in the coils which actuate the lights and create a net force that rotates the impeller.

    摘要: A foot spa tub includes a tub basin, a first magnetic drive member rotatably coupled to a drive motor, and a first casing supporting the magnetic drive member. The first casing is disposed against an exterior surface of a sidewall of the basin. A second magnetic drive member is rotatably coupled to a blade. The first and second magnetic drive members are magnetically coupled to each other so that the blade is drivingly coupled to the drive motor. A nozzle houses the second magnetic drive member and the blade. The nozzle is detachably securable to an interior surface of the sidewall by a magnetic attraction force between the first and second magnetic drive members. A method of circulating liquid in a foot tub spa is also provided.
