摘要:
A system (10) for monitoring an operating condition of an electrostatic precipitator rapper system (12) includes a rapper (24) configured to mechanically actuate to disengage pollutants from a plate of the electrostatic precipitator (12). The system also includes a sensor (38, 40) configured to obtain and transmit signals representative of vibration, motion, or current behavior of the rapper; and a processor (52) configured to receive the signals from the sensor and to detect whether the rapper is mechanically actuated.

A method of controlling the rapping of at least one collecting electrode plate (30) of an electrostatic precipitator (1) comprises applying, by means of a power source (32), a voltage between said at least one collecting electrode plate (30) and at least one discharge electrode (28), measuring the sparking rate between said at least one collecting electrode plate (30) and said at least one discharge electrode (28), and controlling, using the measured present sparking rate, the rapping of said at least one collecting electrode plate (30).
摘要:
An improved method and system is provided to control the rapping process used to clean the internal collection plates and discharge electrodes of electrostatic precipitators. The system obtains the performance characteristics of a first rapper and calculates a rapper lift value. The system then obtains performance characteristic data from two or more additional rappers and calculates rapper lift values for each of the rappers. Finally, the system compares the rapper lift value of each additional rapper and adjusts its performance characteristics so that it substantially approximates the performance characteristics of the first rapper.
摘要:
A multiple rapper control (10) for an electrostatic precipitator for monitoring and individually controlling each of a plurality of rappers based on computer (12) stored rapper characteristics including the voltage type, the voltage level, the pre-set electrical input current, the minimum increment between energization cycles, and the maximum duration of energization. Each rapper is connected to a TRIAC switch device (20) linked to a computer (14) and a power control means (16) to vary the input power to each rapper supplied from a power source (18). Current detecting means (22) is bi-directionally connected to the computer (14) and is connected to the power control means (16) to sense and measure the peak electrical input current to each rapper. A preselected logic sequence stored in the computer (12) controls power to each rapper. Optional polarity reversal means (37) eliminate undesirable magnetization of rapper components.

In a tumbling hammer type rapper (10), a feedback signal is provided via limit switch (30) and cam (28) mounted on rapper shaft (14) to control the rotation of rapper shaft (14) through one revolution. Rapper shaft (14) rotation is monitored to ensure that rapper shaft (14) completes one revolution, returning to the initial position, within a normal predetermined time period. If rapper shaft (14) fails to rotate from the initial position or fails to complete one revolution within the normal predetermined time period, an alarm is energized.

The optimum knock frequency of an electrofilter installation consisting of several filters is determined. Each filter includes a microcomputer controller and a knocking device. The knock frequency is controlled by a superimposed master computer and the optimum knock frequency for a given knock frequency, varying the frequency by the master computer, again measuring the long-term average of the dust loading, and continuing to change the frequency and measure the dust loading until the dust loading value reaches a minimum.
摘要:
An apparatus and method for monitoring electrode rapper operation in an electrostatic precipitator. The actual movement or impact of the hammer in an electrode rapper is sensed and a control signal is generated and transmitted to a monitor in response thereto in order to produce an immediate and accurate indication of rapper failure.

Electrically-activated shaking devices are arranged in modules to shake the electrodes of an electrostatic precipitator, each module corresponding to a different section of the precipitator. An operating system for the shaking devices includes a main distributor circuit that sends electrical signals to individual control circuits at each of the modules in sequence and at a relatively fast rate. Each control circuit has an adjustable timer that independently generates pulses at a relatively slow rate and a synchronizing circuit that generates an output signal only if it receives a signal from the timer followed by a signal from the main distributor. Each control circuit further includes a secondary distributor circuit that operates in response to the synchronizing circuit to activate the shaking devices in the associated module sequentially. An inhibit device operated by the synchronizing circuit prevents more than a single shaker from being activated at a time.
