    摘要: An anchor assembly and a method of installing the same so as to secure an object to an underlying substructure comprises an insert member having an internally threaded bore, and an externally threaded headed bolt member for threaded engagement within the threaded bore of the insert member. A through-bore is formed within the object to be secured to the substructure, and the bolt member is inserted into the upper end portion of the through-bore so as to be threadedly engaged with the insert member which is disposed in abutted contact with the undersurface of the object as an assembly when the object is to be secured to a freshly poured concrete substructure. If the object is to be secured to an existing concrete foundation, an anchor assembly comprising the bolt member, a sleeve member, and the insert member is initially assembled, a bore is in effect simultaneously formed within both the object and the concrete foundation so that the bores within such components are coaxially aligned with respect to each other, adhesive is deposited within the bore of the concrete substructure, and the anchor assembly is inserted through the object and into the bore of the substructure such that the insert member is immersed within the adhesive material which is then permitted to harden and set.

    摘要: An anchor assembly and a method of installing the same so as to secure an object to an underlying substructure comprises an insert member having an internally threaded bore, and an externally threaded headed bolt member for threaded engagement within said threaded bore of the insert member. If the object is to be secured to a freshly poured batch of concrete material which will form the underlying substructure when the same hardens and sets, the lower end portion of the insert member is inserted into the freshly poured concrete which is then permitted to harden and set, whereas if the object is to be secured to an existing concrete foundation, a bore is formed within the concrete foundation, adhesive is deposited within the bore, and the insert member is inserted into the adhesive material which is then permitted to harden and set.

    摘要: A spiral member for improving the grip of screws in wooden or other receptive substrates is disclosed. The spiral member has a central axial drive pin by which it can be driven into a thread in the receptive substrate, and it has an improved cross section providing wings or protuberances extending out past the side surfaces of the cross section. The spiral member also has an outwardly facing triangular apex which bites into the old thread while the wings bear upon the flanks of the screw thread of the screw that inserted into the spiral member, thereby improving the grip.

    摘要: A toggle tie plate rail fastening system is described for securing rails to wood cross-ties. A wear plate is secured to the upper surface of each of the cross-ties adjacent each end thereof. Each of the wear plates has a plurality of tubular toggles secured thereto which extend downwardly therefrom and which are received by openings formed in the cross-tie. A tie plate is positioned on each of the wear plates and has a rail supported thereon held thereto by a pair of hold-down plates. Bolt members extend downwardly through the hold-down plates and the tie plates and are received by the toggle members. Tightening of the bolts causes the toggles to compress and to move in to gripping engagement with the cross-tie.

    摘要: There is disclosed a rail sleeper which when secured to rails affords rapid disengagement when necessary and is comprised of a metal bar of a U-shaped channel section. At two locations along the length of the bar portions of flanges of the sleeper are removed to provide slots disposed at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the bar. Each slot is wider than the base of the rail fitting thereinto with the space between slots dependent upon the gage between parallel rails and with the depth of such slots being varied to suit rail height. One rail flange is secured in place by an overhanging portion of the sleeper flanges. The other rail flange is secured by a generally T-shaped steel plate which is bolted to the bottom of the U-shaped channel section such that the horizontal bar of the T-shaped plate rests across the upright flanges of the sleeper. One edge of the horizontal bar engages the web of the rail and the other edge engages the edge of the slot, thus wedging the rail into secure engagement.
