    摘要: A method of modular pole construction an elongate modular pole structure is disclosed. A first step of the method involves providing hollow tapered pole section modules, each module having a first open end and an opposed second open end. A cross-section of the second end is less than a cross-section of the first end. The modules are stacked to form an elongated modular pole structure of a selected length by mating the second end of a first module with the first end of a second module. The first and second modules may have different structural properties, such that poles having desired structural properties can be constructed by selectively combining modules having differing structural properties.

    摘要: A vertically elevated gate mast with open front that is divided into multiple sections and is assembled section by section from bottom to the top. The first section is an integrated structure, and 2nd to nth sections are divided into a left part and a right part. Each left and right part is assembled by connecting front upright posts, back upright posts, upper beams, lower beams and brace rods. Corresponding left and right parts are then connected with back beams and brace rods to form each section with beams and brace rods at the left, right and back sides. Lifting and lowering of the mast is realized by drawworks. Installation is performed from the ground, by assembling the left parts and the right parts with the back beams and the brace rods into a shape of gate, and then lifting each section as a whole with a crane.

    摘要: To erect metal utility poles, a plurality of tubular sections of utility poles are fabricated, each having tapered portions and the diameter of one being slightly larger than the diameter of another. The sections are brought to a site for erection and pulled together with short repeated strokes of a hydraulic cylinder attached to one section with its piston rod connected to another section of utility pole. In one embodiment it is not necessary to manually adjust the mechanism pulling the sections of utility poles together and in another embodiment, a light flexible cord is attached to one section and a hydraulic cylinder to another section. The hydraulic cylinder pulls the cord and when the piston rod is extended for the next retraction, the cord length is adjusted.

The present invention includes pointed hooks wherein the hooks are attached to each section of a section chain, one in a horizontal direction and one in an off-set manner. The section chains are placed on a take up mechanism in an operable position and then raised utilizing a motor. As the section chains are raised, they are guided by a guide tower, rollers, shims, and gear racks into a position whereby hooks from adjacent sections of the section chains form coupled engagements. The coupled engagement of the hooks of the sections of each adjacent section chains thereby form the column.

    摘要: A support tower for large structures such as wind turbines generators, microwave structures, high voltage transmission lines or the like, constructed of telescopic sections with the lowermost section having an edge portion pivotally connected to a foundation to enable the tower sections to be transported to the site of installation. The tower sections are assembled at the installation site in a nested relationship, each within the adjacent lower tower section. The large load is mounted on the upper end of the uppermost tower section and the nested tower sections are then tilted upwardly to a vertical position. After the tower is tilted to its vertical position and securely connected to the foundation, the telescopic tower sections are vertically extended to position the load in a vertically elevated position.

    摘要: A method of raising the transmission hardware carried by a utility pole having a base end with a ground foundation supporting the pole in upright position, without disturbing the pole foundation or disconnecting the cables, includes the steps of securing opposed, circumferentially spaced elongate pole support members to extend upwardly along the pole and severing the pole to define a first pole supported by the pole foundation and a second pole supported by the first pole; fixing the support members to the first pole and slidably banding them to the second pole; raising the second pole above the first pole to a level remaining below the upper ends of the support members; and fixing the lower end of the second pole within and to the upper ends of the support members at a spaced distance above the first pole. The method further contemplates the releasable securement of ladder steps to at least one of the support members to provide ready access for carrying out some of the method steps.

A load connected to the header of the upper cylinder is lifted a distance equal to the sum of the extension of the base cylinders and the subsequent extension of the upper cylinder.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for erecting buildings is disclosed. The method involves providing frame elements of a building which may be made up of spaced columns connected together by a beam or beams which may meet at a gable. To erect the frames, each frame is disposed horizontally on the ground with bases of the columns attached by a hinge member to a footing. A spacer bar is supported with one end in a recess in the ground or attached to the frame. A tension member such as a cable is attached to the frame at the gable and is passed over the top end of the spacer post and a vehicle or other prime mover is attached to the tension member to pull the frame to erect position. Each of the hinge members may be made of a socket to attach to the base of a column and a shoe attached to a ground support footing. Each socket is hinged to the shoe by a fowardly facing slot that receives a pin on the socket. The slot is so shaped that the pin can enter it when the column is in horizontal position, but the pin cannot slip out of the slot when the column is raised away from the horizontal position. A second pin is provided which extends through flanges on the shoe and through flanges on the socket when the column is in erect position.
