A pair of axial discs are seated on the pinion shaft on respective sides of the pinion and axial pressure fields and control fields provide opposing pressures against the axial discs.

摘要： A reversible hydraulic motor has a forward and a reverse drive section, each separated by a separating plate. Each section has an outer ring, end plate and inner rotor forming a chamber therebetween. Each rotor has a pair of radial slots, separated by 180.degree., and a piston moveable in each slot. An extension form the outer ring to the rotor divides the chamber and moves the pistons inward into the rotor slots at the end of each revolution. Hydraulic fluid is selectively applied, under pressure, to the desired direction section to the interior space between the rotor slot and the piston during the 180.degree. after the rotor rotates past the extension. Each piston has a fluid path therethrough to allow the provided hydraulic fluid to exit the piston interior space into the chamber in a direction opposite to the desired direction of rotation. This exiting fluid builds up pressure in the chamber and rotates the piston and rotor. A fluid return path is provided in the second 1/2.degree. portion of each revolution to allow the fluid added during the initial 180.degree. of rotation to be returned to the hydraulic pumping system. The return path includes a channel to allow the fluid between the piston and slot to also be returned as the piston is moved inward by the extension. Additional selective return means are associated with the nonselected section to allow a return path for the fluid therein.

摘要： A gear pump for unidirectionally transporting a fluid such as oil has a stationary housing with an inlet port and an outlet port on opposite sides of the axis of a cylindrical chamber in which a ring with an eccentric inner periphery is rotatable through an arc of 180.degree. between two limiting positions. Freely rotatable within the inner ring periphery is an annular outer rotor with internal gear teeth entrainable by a driven inner rotor with external gear teeth, the latter numbering one less than the internal gear teeth of the outer rotor. A face of the ring has one or more shallow depressions open toward the outer rotor, each depression being spanned by a leaf spring which is anchored to the ring and defines with the outer periphery of that rotor a wedge-shaped gap diverging symmetrically toward its ends to form alternate lodgments for a rotary coupling member such as a ball or a roller. With the ring in one of its limiting positions and the rotors being driven in a direction in which the pumping spaces formed between the coacting rotor teeth move the fluid from the inlet port to the outlet port, the coupling member lies free or under light spring pressure in the downstream lodgment as seen in the direction of rotation. When the rotor drive is reversed, leakage fluid present at the contact surface between the outer rotor and the ring builds up sufficient pressure to drive the coupling member toward the narrow waist of its gap to entrain the ring into its other limiting position in which it is arrested as the coupling member moves past that waist into its opposite lodgment.

摘要： A reversible lubricant pump supplies oil to one of a pair of tandem drive axles. The pump includes a housing mounted on the axle helical gear cover to receive oil from an oil sump within the axle casing and to discharge oil to various components within the drive axle assembly. A drive gear and a driven gear are mounted within the housing for rotation in either direction to pump oil from a common inlet passage to a common outlet passage. The drive gear is mounted on a pump shaft which extends from within the housing to within the axle helical gear cover and has a pump gear fixedly mounted thereon. The pump gear is driven in response to movement of an input shaft of the axle assembly to cause the pump to operate in both the forward and reverse directions. A lubricating port within the housing extends from the pump discharge to the bearing of the pump shaft to provide the pump shaft with lubrication when the drive axle assembly is operated in the forward direction.
